Got it. It is the menu bar that went missing. Got it back using Alt-F, (also an option under the 'Menus' icon. The net of this is: set permissions and ownership for the OE directories and files on the secondary drive then copy them to the primary C: drive. Remove read-only attributes from the copied directories and files. Import the .dbx email directory into Windows Live Email, (Alt-F to get to menu bar). How to get OE address book...

Keyboard for gaming and linux
Published (2009-12-20 12:09:00)
I find that gaming boards are either confusing or have an odd layout for my type of gaming. I find a good old-fashioned multimedia keyboard to work best because that's what I am used to. I use a 7-year old Microsoft kb myself - and I have a spare too. I have one of these, but it's still in the box: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/ga...s.aspx?pid=093 I got it for free from MS for my MVP efforts, so I'm not in a hurry to try it....

another possibility might be the wall wiring is not adequate enough to handle all the load. in the office we have 2 spots that have a similar problem, and we had to hire contractors to review the affected areas. when i purchased my house, i specially requested to put in a more powerful panel and wiring for my computer room to take care of the power draw, as i run about ... 5+ computer simultaneously and then a few more on demand. i don't...

I think you should start with a memory and hard drive diagnostic. UBCD will have both Memtest86+ and your hard drive manufacturers diagnostic utility. You can use the tutorial on UBCD site to learn how to make and use the cd. There should be no errors during testing.

Dust is an issue if the card is covered in it, but you would have cleaned it by now I would think. Being it's an old card, the GPU is probably heating up from old thermal paste or the fan isn't working or maybe a loose heatsink. When the memory goes bad, my experience is you get lockups and artifacts. I would reapply thermal paste for the GPU making sure the heatsink/fan are installed correctly. ...

ATI installs the Catalyst Control Center which has the ability to set brightness, contrast and gamma (colors) . Most people , including myself, use the monitor software and/or controls to set and calibrate the monitor. You don't need to have CCC installed, but it's preferred. Just leave its settings alone and then use the Samsung software to calibrate. Again this works for most users , a pro ...

The new one is putting out RF interference that the old on did not. You can try the RMA route and maybe a different one will not. RFI - Radio Frequency Interference can be hard to beat.

Intel still has the edge over AMD when it comes to video encoding. With that budget you could build a complete basic i7 or i5 system, which is the latest tech. Look for a P55 or X58 motherboard combo. You will need DDR3 memory and a good qualified power supply. This would be best performance and longevity.

did you run Seatools on the drives yet? It shouldn't matter which ports you use. You should use the same ports that you created the array on. You can get a larger drive, but the array will be limited by the smallest drive.

Sorry but I didn't read through the whole thing... Is the 20 gig partition FULL? Or do you expect it to get full? And - I don't mess with Raid much - but something to look into: Replace the current 2nd drive with a large drive....Then rebuild the raid...I think this would kill a few birds with one store...Then you'd make the new larger drive - #1 - and add another newer llarge drive and...
