oh my goodness, how on earth could Ruth be in the bottom two last night - and how could Simon vote to keep girlband over her. luckily the public vote saved her. My personal favs now are Alexadra, Diana, & Laura.

Interesting comment: WATER SENSE "Plunge in boldly and look to the object you are trying to attain and don't bother about your own safety." Baden-Powell was outraged by an episode in which a woman drowned in a pond at Hampstead while a crowd looked on. But his advice on emergency situations, and particularly the rescuing of the drowning, seem at odds with today's culture. For the ...

My vote goes to a migraine. I was going to say that on the flu thread but thought it would be interesting to see what everybody thinks is the worst pain ever. Ive broken limbs, ive had the flu (once), ive sprayed tabac on a massive friction burn. Ive burned myself (thats not far from the top) and all sorts, but I find a migraine is the most unbearable pain ever. I need calming down...

Our leisure centre (private) is being refurbished and they have just completely reformed the changing rooms. It has now got the most brilliant invention ever! A swimming costume drier! It's ace! Just pop the cossie in the drummy-thing, close the lid for 10 seconds and hey presto! A dry costume! I am sorely tempted to take all my washing down there as I can't afford a tumble drier!

This is not a subject close to Stevie_k’s heart, knowing his distaste of bodysuits which produce faster times in the pool. During the 2008 Olympics, many swimmers wore wrinkle free caps, even caps over caps. These new wrinkle free caps weren't on the market in August 2008 but are now. They are called the Speedo Aqua V - Cap designed by Speedo Aqualab. They say it offers "a unique mulit-...

Where the officials are all really happy? They supply food and drink. Entertainment is provided - I'm thinking a full orchestra, followed by a few of my favourite bands. We have a disco round the pool whilst the races are going on. Anyone really slow is DQ'd after a length to hurry it along. There's a free for all with the teams where anyone from anywhere can swim for any...

I'm thinking of having a flu jab this year. Anybody here had it, and what's the cost in your part of the world? I've been quoted £15 by the doctor. Also, are there any after effects? Can't really risk catching it again. Nearly died last year and I took weeks to recover.

http://www.ross-shirejournal.co.uk/n...pool_plan.h tml The Ross-shire Journal has printed a further article on the hopes for a swimming pool at Fortrose on the Black Isle in the Highlands. A local survey has shown there's huge support for the project and Stuart Edmond of the Black Isle Swimming Pool Foundation will be making fresh appeals to the Highland Council not to go ahead with ...
