Completed, perhaps, but not by Lubitsch: much of the film was directed by
Otto Preminger after Lubitsch's health declined (though the film's sensibility reflects that of its original director far more than Preminger's, since Lubitsch guided the writing of the script and chose the cast)....

I don't agree, ham. I really like this movie a lot and it will be fun to see it on TCM. And don't forget it is just one of a number of films being shown about the Depression throughout the whole month (on the 1st, the 8th, the 15th, the 22nd, and 29th) and that includes The
Grapes of Wrath.
