OK, so I realize I am probably directly defying one of the holy SDN commandments, but I'm posting this thread again (even though a similar thread was moved a couple of days ago). I know the kind and considerate mods will understand, though. After all, this is the year we'll be taking the MCAT, writing personal statements, submitting AMCAS, applying to med schools, and lot of other ...

Hi everyone, I'm getting worried. I've heard that allopathic med schools usually don't take anyone with under a 37 MCAT. Is that true? I'm getting really worried because my Kaplan FL and AAMC practice scores are only averaging around 12PS/13V/11BS. It's so close to a 37 but I'm afraid that since I won't actually have a 37 MCAT all the good med schools will reject me before I even get an ...

Last week, guy A came to the pharmacy with 2 Rxs for Oxycontin BRAND NAME ONLY 80mg #120 each. Since they're on 2 separate RXs, I filled one RX but not the other (#120 is one month supply, why does he need 2 month supply at once?- he had no good reason for this and did not press the issue...) He paid CASH. (He has a history of paying CASH for #120 oxy80, he did it twice in April.) Last ...

Alright, so you want to take the MCAT. You've found the urge to be a doctor, or you're doing it because you're pre-med, didn't realize what you were signing up for, and feel it's too late to back out now . You've figured out where you stand, how far you need to go, and decided that the best date to take the MCAT is the 2nd of July 2009 because: I) You want to fall into the '...

Sure, we are all in it, because we LOVE helping people, per our admissions interviews. However, I will be the first to admit that pharmacy was never something that crossed my mind as a future profession growing up. I always wanted to work in an artistic or writing field, but the reality hit me my freshman year that, for me, it's better to have a job that reliably pays (I never want to have to ...

Welcome to 2009 everybody!! As you can see, I'm a pre-pharm student aiming to get into UBC pharmacy in Fall 2009. Anybody else applying? What's your current GPA for pre-reqs? Or what extra-curriculars do you have? Application problems? Not yet taken the PCAT? We should discuss any questions we have on here and maybe we can help each other out. For current UBC pharmacy ...
