I have a couple of other topics in mind, but I haven't finished going through and sorting my pictures. The two main topics I thought I'd cover most of the locations we visited, so I wanted to have all sorted and processed before I pick and choose what I want. In the mean time, I thought I'd post two more pictures, this time of a man-made building. They were taken inside the Old Faithful...

Hi all.. I am new to the whooooollleeee digi cam scene.. So my first cam ever is a Aiptek AHD+ Ordered off Ebay.. I know the zoom is not supposed to be great on these, but in all video modes, I have a very distracting "artifact" that shows up large in zoom and is barely noticeable normally with my new cam,. Any comments or suggestions on this ? Thanks!! Oh, and also, any ...

I actually got up early this morning and took a hike with the K20d and the Kiron 105mm macro. Some of the shots below were among the best I got and some probably would have been in the recycle bin except for the fact I caught them in flight. Sweat Bee Agapostemon splendens Syrphid Fly taking off Honeybee Another honey bee: Not the greatest focus, but this ...

Well, this weekend's adventure took us to Erie PA. We actually planned the trip for the zoo there. Stayed at the zoo for a couple hours and then took a ride down to Presque Isle State Park (I know some will say a birding opportunity missed) and my quest to photograph more of the Great Lakes Lighthouses was satisfied. Today I snapped 4. The weather however was not great but of course I did the ...

If you have the money and the time to learn the camera, go for it! You will have to also learn post processing to get the most out of the D300 as well. It is a fine tool that you will probably never outgrow. Buying once and for all was valid in film SLR days but any digital camera should be considered as a disposable camera since the technology is changing so quickly. I paid about the same...

Hello All, After consulting with Ira about ideas for the August challenge, we came up with a"WIDE" . This could be a wide angle or a wide point of view or? Pictures are to be sized 800 pixels on their longest side, be taken with a Pentax or Samsung dSLR, and be taken within the last 90 days. Here is an example. I have a Canon Rebel Xti and it seems to have a LOT of noise at high ISO speeds (400+). Can someone recommend a good camera that does not? I want to be able to shoot in low light and still have clear shots. Thanks.
