You could add a meta refresh set to 5 minutes (300 seconds) for instance or whatever. Keep in mind however that visitors will get miffed if while they are reading a page it gets refreshed. Also any who left before the refresh took place will still not be captured. If they leave via an external link, the latest SC4 counter will capture that moment and I believe the time spent on the last page before clicking the external links is included in...

if you go to any wikipedia page that also has a search wikipedia form, and search for something but no results come up, you are given a result that says to the effect "did you mean X?" "you may create the page "x" ..., bla bla bla and they give you a link to do it. i just did it with my new domain name because it is a word i made up but is related to another existing word...

It is a different type of animal for sure. I looked on GoDaddy for programs and applications to do stuff with and there is a wiki available there to install. My thought was something like "I can't even get WikiPedia to do what I want. What would I do with my own wiki??". Let me/us know how it goes and I'll visit your article when you are done.

Google Ranking, Inbound Links -...
Published (2009-11-09 18:06:00)
Another very notable departure for Google from slavery to links and word matches is that Google image search is substantially and permanently NOT tied to inbound links. And of course, Google image search is by definition not tied to search terms per se either. It appears that SOME sites that will NEVER appear on text search results due partly to lack of inbound links can and do appear from time to time on image searches. Moreover, it appears...

Who knows what Google think?
If the directory is seen as a 'bad' site, or links to bad neighbourhoods it could lead to a downgrade.
Google might feel that 90% of links from one site is excessive, each link doesn't carry the same weight as links from separate sites?
Is your site fresh?
Does it offer original content?

I guess I'm lucky if I even see the most recent visitor on the bottom of the page now!
The RECENT PAGELOAD ACTIVITY page is fine. But the RECENT VISITOR ACTIVITY page is all messed up. This is happening with ALL my projects.
Sure hope I'm not the only one this is happening to and that it is fixed real soon!

Arne thanks for your help.
I checked the IP address I put in yesterday and today it's a different one! Is that possible?
Anyway, I've enabled the cookie and added Statcounter to my list of sites allowed to have cookies on my computer. I've just gone to my blog via blogger and it looks like the filtering is working and I'm no longer being counted. So I've reset my stats and started ...

I'm not sure I understand what you try to do?
With the free account, you have a log size of 500 page loads for each project within the account, and is set as default. You can reduce the log size to anything below 500, but you can't get more without upgrading to a payed account.
When the log is filled (up to 500 page loads) the oldest page loads is "rolled of" the log when a new page ...

Have you checked the page(s) source code, to see if the counter code is there and not messed up in any way? That's the usual cause to why logging stops, and it can happen even without your knowledge on editing and/or uploading updates on a site.

hey, that looks like having a " webmaster tool" similar to what I have in Seamonkey and IE8. And with those tools, I can outline e.g. tables and table cells also with the element names displayed. Do you happen to have something similar in that Opera version also? If you have, it could explain everything if the outlining is on.

Hi
Something on the computer or network is blocking Statcounter.
Things to check;
Check the browser to see that Statcounter.com is not blocked.
Local hosts file should NOT have Statcounter.com in it.
Any software that monitors browsing.
Some workplace networks can block Statcounter.com

You say you have 2 projects and only one is paid for (upgraded). Why? Do you have the projects in separate accounts? The extra log size with an upgrade is for per account, not per project.
You know you can have as many projects within one account as you like? And when you upgrade to a paid account , you can use the extra log size on all projects within the same account?
I don't know ...

Good luck, Chris. I joined Wikipedia years ago and I still just edit a bit here and there.
I have searched for stuff and been asked if I wanted to create the page since it didn't exist, but that's as far as I got.

That's supposed to be an address within the page.
In the source code of your page which may be called (for instance) page.html, you may have something like:
<a name="this_paragraph"></a>
to identify a particular spot on the page (e.g. at the start of a particular paragraph you want to be able to link to directly).
Then elsewhere on the same page or elsewhere you can have a ...
