When you press and hold the reset button to restore factory settings, make sure you do so for 10 seconds or longer. All the lights should turn off, then on when the operation is complete. The METROs do not have a button, so a serial console factory restore will be needed. When using the serial console, type: system factory <enter> Say yes when prompted, and it will reboot.

Link went down last night. 1.4.22 on both sides, 5.x signal around 70 on both. Link has been up for months and both sides are stock wp188 and 23db AG radios. I thought it might be a power issue on the far end. Tried changing channels, removed threshold and rebooted AP. Drove to AP and power cycled the unit to no avail. Drove out to client, still had power so I logged in. It saw the AP but didn't display the ssid under site survey. It...

Published (2009-11-12 01:52:00)
Thresholds didn't help, but I may have found the cause. The downstream unit started rebooting on me every time I made a change. I went and checked it out, and it has a 48V 0.4A PSU attached. Wrong PSU in the bin I suppose. That's the same unit that's having the CPU load trouble. While I can't draw a line between CPU load and insufficient power, I know that the problem may be related to the cards or board not getting enough...

Hot Spot connection question
Published (2009-11-13 07:52:00)
Update: 1. We found we have to be careful about what device the radius is looking on. One of the units that would not work was a cross band dogleg repeater while others were locate in the same place and backhauled via eth ports from a common switch. ----------- 2. The second problem was there were left over IP assignments from the V2 configs. that had to be cleared. This was not a case of something missing but rather a case of IP's that...

You are probing IP that is on the "far end" of the unit. You need to use IP that points (routes) to you. Try probing IP on the radio from those units who are sitting on your desk and you will get nothing. It's because SNMP uses UDP and SNMP daemon will return data from "wrong" IP, from the one that is pointed in your direction. Use Beacon monitor and you will see what I mean.

Excellent news. Cant wait to test it. Have you fixed GUI problem with showing correct VDS interface in beacon realtime traffic monitor? Just asking while you are fine tuning it, so we do not miss it this time. Wow, I can't believe it. I refreshed new posts just a minute after you posted this news. Talk about perfect timing. lol

I haven't ever played with one, but $99 for a self-contained 1.2GHz ARM with 512MB of RAM and 512MB flash isn't too bad. Comparing horsepower, it would be the same ARMv5 architecture with the same performance characteristics, one runs at 533MHz and one runs at 1200MHz. The speed difference is going to be directly linked to the clock speed since they are basically the same architecture.
