Matt Holliday
Published (2009-11-14 20:59:00)
I just don't see how he can realistically sell Damon on anybody for 3 years. But then again his last time he hit free agency people were saying 3 years is too much and he's got a 4 year deal and did well with it. So thats where I came up with that theory of Boras wanting to get the Yanks in the Holliday mix. They for sure aren't set on their current OF since they are after Granderson. They and I can't believe I'm...

I bet he'd rather play LF in the postseason than 2B for a team that's never won it's division.

Can Wainwright- Carpenter share...
Published (2009-11-13 22:16:00)
"As I said, it is not a terribly strong argument at all, but Chris Carpenter received LESS run support than Timmy(the great offense of St. Louis performed WORSE for him than the terrible offense of SF performed for Timmy) yet still received more wins. That is not meaningless. It's not incredibly powerful but it does show that wins are not a completely meaningless statistic for pitcher comparison when used with other...

BRING BACK LOOPER?

Looper brings about 200 innings but with an ERA of 5 or so. He is getting old and declining. Only if he is very cheap (2 mill) would it make any sense to me.

Way more upside with Gagne and a minor league contract. Looper does nothing for us.

Dave Duncan is a great pitching coach, for established pitchers. I don't believe that he is a good pitching coach for young guys in their first few years. He has been able to, over the years, get a lot out of pitchers who were thought to be in the twilight of their careers. I don't think that he is good at doing the sort of thing that Adam Wainwright was talking about, below. He let one ...

It's about time they moved it out of the Millennium, which was WAY too small. I stopped going a couple of years ago because there were way too many people jammed into the dinner and the lines for autographs were a mess. (That dinner had to be a huge fire hazard.) I really don't think they moved to gouge the fans -- I think there were too many complaints from fans who weren't getting ...

I think the free agent pool is going to be slow in moving this year and there will be a lot more trades early as we are already seeing. I think most teams are pinching pennies and would rather move contracts around than piler on salary. I would imagine you almost have to think that if Holliday walks the Cards have to go strong after a solid OF. But then again this is a top 50 list , how often...

I do all my work on a Macbook Pro, because programming on Windows bloes. A decade ago, I'd go with PCs, since you could run Linux, but now Unix based Mac OS X is the most polished 'nix out there. It is kind of ridiculous how it doesn't have a C compiler out of the box, but XCode is free (unlike Visual Overpriced Studio from M$). I do all my gaming on Windows XP 64, on a pc I built myself. ...

But not for me serving in the US Army in Germany, that wall would still be there. Seriously, it was a great time. I remember the Soviets had trouble providing transportation to their troops to get back to Russia. The Soviets were broke. The bear had no claws or teeth. President Reagon did a great job on the international front.

"If you're drawing 3.3 million fans and you're averaging $50 a fan coming in, I just don't know that mid-market term." I'm clapping for Boras on that one. Mid market is a joke.
