I think you should read the whole article because he goes into great detail about this. I'm only posting the first two paragraphs and the closing paragraphs. "There's a story flying under the radar out in Kansas that the powers that be within NASCAR would prefer you didn't know about - at least until the deal is done, that is - but it illuminates everything about what's really driving NASCAR ...

Officials have apparently come up with at least a preliminary series of changes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup testing policy. The centerpiece is allowing teams to test independently at tracks that host Cup races, which is now only allowed at open tests conducted by NASCAR. The new rules would end NASCAR-sanctioned tests, except for the Preseason Thunder sessions held at Daytona International ...

I thought this article was so excellent in it's content that it's worth posting in it's entirety here. And I admit I agree 100% with the author's statements. The invective chokes the e-mail box like plaque in an artery, gumming the works with antipathy and contempt. He's a girl, he's a crybaby, he's a whiner, he's a jerk, he's arrogant and condescending. He's every type of curse word George ...

I certainly hope we never spend 40 mil. on any coach. Phil has been a good coach for the most part, but I think another bad year, or even a good year with another bowl game let down could possibly cause him some trouble with his job. I am looking for more improvement on last year, and hope for an SEC title game appearance. Florida is back on top again which kills me, and a couple other teams ...

In order to keep the fans happy at “the World Center of Racing”, Daytona International Speedway has begun renovating the lower grandstands in the DePalma and Oldfield Grandstands, and also the the Seagrave, Keech and Lockhart Grandstands. They will be replaced with chair seats with arm rests. The speedway will also place new aluminum on all of the risers and walkways, add more handicap ...

Statement from RIR's Prez Doug Fritz about impact of storm: “Given the projected path of Tropical Storm Hanna, we are working closely with NASCAR, as well as state and local government officials to monitor the path and potential impact of the storm. As always, the safety of our fans, competitors and the local community is of the utmost importance to Richmond International Raceway. This weekend...

Here's what I found: SpeedwayMedia.com, Press Release - DAVID STREMME CHOSEN AS DRIVER OF THE No. 12 PENSKE RACING ALLTEL DODGE IN 2009 NASCAR CUP SERIES Good for Stremme. If Ganassi kept him and let Sorenson go instead, who's to say how they would be doing right now? I'm sure it wouldn't be any worse! I've found another Cup driver to be a fan of!

Who here is brave enough to to go out on a limb for the Clemson game predictions? Personally I think Bama rolls 42-10 in a big preview for Julio & JPW.

What has happened to Jeff Gordon and his team? The four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion is asking the same question and tried to get some answers in a team meeting in the No. 24 hauler after Sunday's shockingly bad finish at Watkins Glen. Gordon, who has four career wins on the road course, struggled from the start of the race. His radio wasn't functioning early, so he couldn't contact ...

NEW YORK (AP) — By staying away from the cupcakes, Southern California earned itself a slim new ranking. No. 1 always seems to fit USC. Southern California jumped two spots to No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25 on Tuesday, rewarded by voters for opening the season with a dominant performance on the road against a BCS conference opponent. Georgia and Ohio State, the preseason Nos. 1 and 2, ...

If you were on a Cup Team, what role would you play and why? Sure, we'd all like to be a driver, but do you really think you would be qualified and excel in that role? Pick something that you know you have the skills for.

Even though I had DVR'd the race, I managed to miss the first few laps. (Sometimes life gets in the way of what you've got planned!) Seems to me Juan Montoya was giving everyone fits . Almost everyone had problems getting around him, except Kyle Busch: he seemed to be able to pass anybody he wanted .. cleanly (too bad we can't say that about the race winner...) Don't know exactly what...

I was thinking ... and that's dangerous! I like Michael Waltrip, but I think it's time for him to go to the rocking chair with Rusty. He/his Team just doesn't have it anymore. When he left DEI, that seemed to be the end. So, how many of you think that it's time for him to retire? Don't base it on your like or dislike (LSC) of the man. Base it on performance. Obviously, my vote is "Yes"....
