But she looks like Judy! I don't know how Hirschfeld achieved it. A few extreme lines, and he captures people perfectly.

It's interesting to learn that the two roles we learn that Desiree played back in the days when she and Fredrik had their affair are now Hedda and Nora, rather than Hedda and Phaedra. A sensible change under the circumstances, even if it's a little hard to imagine Zeta-Jones ever having played Nora. Not so hard imagining her as Phaedra, but given the age thing, it is a sensible change.

I actually like the poster quite a bit. Very 60s movie-ish. My one quibble is Sean Hayes is airbrushed to within an inch of his life!

Joan Morris and William Bolcom

Great scans D! As you know, I love Bolcom and Morris and agree with your assessments. I'll only add that whatever Morris's vocal limitations, she has an authentic-sounding voice for her material. I recently listened to Bolcom and Morris's Rodgers & Hart CD (courtesy of you!) back-to-back with a Frederica Von Stade/John McGlinn R&Hart recording: despite Von Stade's superior voice, I much preferred Morris. I've never seen Honeymoon in Vegas, but I think I've heard that JRB is working on a musical version of it. Has anyone seen the new Promises Promises art? It's...interesting.

Hmm. I guess she's a good choice.

I like her in the good parts of Devil Where's Prada (AKA all the scenes that involve Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and Meryl), and Brokeback. I've never
seen the Princess Diaries movies but I think I'd probably like her in those. And her singing wasn't great, but she seemed kind of right for Carnival.
But as Judy? I mean, let's not even discuss the fact that she is a foot too tall!

Of course, we had Sylvia Miles and John Simon, but that was long ago. Simon's mellowed.
And there was David Leveaux and Michael Riedel a few years ago, but Leveaux's English.
It almost makes me wish that Randy and Eva Quaid had gotten to Broadway.

Of course, The Fantasticks played for 40 years in a very small space.
It does give one pause to realize that the TV musical of Cinderella had 100 million viewers, more than all the R&H tickets sold on Broadway, ever.
