New Meganes shown in Spain

I was really hoping after seeing the BRM 1/24 Meganes that Ninco was going to do the new Megane as well. These look fantastic to me.

SICH28 Screws

I'm sure Daniel is right, cause he's always talking about the economy like he really understands it. I noticed in the Slot.it CH47 Spring Suspension kit that they're including two pairs of screws of differing length - neither of 'em threaded all the way I might add - which is just an obvious attempt to make their customers pay for redundant parts.

Can't everyone get SCI on their computers? edit: OK, I get it, I read about the banning on HRW. Banning seems pretty silly to me.

I pulled this from a response I made to another Forum member. I really like the Slot.It Porsche 956C Series of cars. I figured out that it wouldn't hurt to post and maybe get a response. Something outside the Thought Box perhaps for Slot.It but it never hurts to plant and idea and see what grows from it; especially if it only benefits the manufacturer adn the collectors and racers. Personally I'd love to see a series of cars put out...

I put together a spread sheet. Tenatively has space for 10 each Cab Over (Mercedes Benz, MAN) and 10 Dog House (SISU and Buggyra). They are sepparated for ease of comparison and study Should we make them a sepparate class... the work is done. Added an overall points and may add an overall laps. Since there are others outside SCI who are interested in running this elephant proxy, it would be nice to have the sheet on a web site that I could...

bending metal is easy when you do your math, metal gets smaller when you bend it because you have to add the thickness of the metal and half the diameter of the radius at the bend, do this easy math and you will hit your mark every time, I'm a old toolmaker and do this with exact tolerance in the shop we make motercycle parts for race bikes

Whats the best cars?

Quote: I have driven the Scalextric on his track...and the motors die fast. With that said, I'm going to assume you are running the cars with the magnet in place as there is a lot of heat build-up on the motor in a relatively short time of running which will lead to failure. Slot. It's use a much smaller magnet with less downforce than Scalextric so the heat build up is less. I'll agree with everyone else that Slot.It gives you...

This car has a much better paint job than the one released.
Different cars from different races, the one released is the Le Mans one, your pic is a KH from Brands Hatch. Might be an option for Slot.It to release??

For designing tracks look up SlotMan (aka Slot Car Manager), it's freeware by a German group. I have found it to work very well, and also the guys who created it have been very friendly when I have encountered problems.
As for cars things get to be a little difficult. The reason for this is so much depends on personal preference, and what you are really looking for. So I am going to just give ...

Brilliant, stunning... congratulations
By the way, I have evidence of a 1:1 Gulf P962:
Probably a repaint by the owner, as I don't think it ever raced officially in Gulf livery, but does anyone know where and when this picture was taken?

I love the looks of this car too. Do you have any pictures of it on the track? I have several fly GT40's but I never race them...partly because of all the rubbing against the tires. When you say you 'trimmed the chassis,' what do you mean?

Keep me in mind

The racing was close. The beer was cold. The food was excellent. The company was entertaining. The craic was good.
And I even won a trophy with a fat guy on it! What more can one ask?
The Cornwall Runoffs 2009 will live long, and fondly, in my memory.
Thanks for a great day.

SCX seem more accurate body wise, but neither car is "quick" out of the box. SCX can be harder to do motor swaps on but their chassis are better for non-mag weighting.

Set the belt tension to be "just tight enough". Too tight, you lose speed due to excess load on axle and motor bearings/bushings, too loose, it vibrates.
For me, the longer (stock) belt was faster due to the more forward position of the motor (less oversteer, AKA less tail happy). YMMV (with track and tires).
Not unique to XLOT, but I also picked up a couple .1's by machine-truing the tires...

I agree with you, Iamberto. A very tedious 50 odd laps. I only wandered back towards the screen for the Button v Webber final couple laps.
Did you pick up on the news that there will be two races at Abu Dhabi next season. Very bad news. Glitzy and ritzty but a complete bore.

Good observations. I was planning to try the stock MG tires on a double flanged hub, both to keep them on better and also to have the rim mounted true & square to the axle. Was also thinking of the PVT-01 or PVT-02 as a possible slip-on alternative. The stock rubber is alright, but when we race them I think we will be looking for more grip.

I believe John meant to say the .035 set screw driver...
This is the one used for the set screws in Sot.It cars...
