Problem mit SqueezeBox BOOM
Published (2009-11-21 23:52:00)

Alben doppelt in Squeezebox...
Published (2009-11-21 09:19:00)

Rhapsody streams at 192K but charges a fee. Whether you can tell a difference depends on if you have golden ears. Radio Paridise streams at 192k and offers an eclectic mix. Do a Radiotime search on AVRO. It streams multiple genres at bitrates up to 320K.

Thanks Triode. The iplayer plugin Ver 0.9 installed and runs without a problem on Squeezecenter 7.3.4 - 28319 Vista 32 bit SP1. Loading of e.g. Live Radio 3 is very fast, and it is nice to see the pretty icons on Squeezeplay.
Listening to Saturday evening playback (Radio 3 1600: Jazz Library - Billy Taylor and 1700 Jazz Record Requests) was a great pleasure. I'd very much recommend people to ...

Excuse me if I am hijacking your thread, but I also have a quick question for Mr. Adams, and if you don't mind, maybe he will be so kind to respond to me on this thread.
Do you think that purchasing a Transporter in order to use just its digital outputs makes sense ? (I already have both a SB3 and a Duet). In other words, what do you think about the jitter of the S/PDIF outputs of SB3 vs ...

As a test of QNAP capability - can you play this stream

If it doesn't play then workarounds may be needed.
Are you in the UK ? It affects what workaround are feasible.

Well, thank you for starting a new thread (I was a bit shy, to be honest).
So, the idea was : to include the A/D clock in the initially recorded data.
This could allow all the intermediate " transports" to do just that : transport the initial data (and clock, thus) without adding anything to the stored data. Whatever the number of intermediate transports the data+clock would remain ...

Sean (the TP's designer) would say the Transporter is better. ;-)
Maybe you should get a dealer to let you demo the Transporter. There is also the 30 day return policy.
What type of files are you worried about? The Transporter can play up to 24bit/96khz files natively, and uses high-quality server-side automatic down-sampling in the latest squeezecenter.

Interesting.
It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that you were so cool if you had a CD player. I got my first one in 1988. That was 21 years ago!!
And then there was the portable CD player - the CD walkman. Then you were really stylin'.
It all seems so quaint now :-). The portable CD player is now the equivilent of the brick cell phones from the 80's. Walk around with ...

Ich glaub, das Radio und die Touch können AAC nativ. Nenn doch mal eine Beispiel URL, die dann ja eventuell ein stolzer Radio Besitzer testen könnte.

whatever software you use, you want it to support "accuraterip"
dbpoweramp and EAC do. don't know about MM.
my understanding of flac is that ANY compression ratio is still bit perfect. the difference is simply encoding time, but i know very little about flac, i could be wrong.

BBCiPlayer does not play RealAudio (i.e. .ram, rtsp) streams.
Forget about the RealAudio streams as the BBC are closing them all down by March 2010.
Use the Live WMA streams or the live AAC streams using BBCiPlayer.
