That's good and it is really the QNAP this time !! Are you playing Flash/AAC or Flash/MP3 ? With AAC there may be a transcoding load on the server whereas for MP3 there is no transcoding. The log file seemed to have no logging enabled. It would be great to get an full log just to make sure that all the variables have reasonable values now.

Do you get any errors in the server.log file ? Can you post your library configuration files ? (They are found in the directory you have specified in "Settings/Plugins/Multi Library")

Tried to play some music on a Boom (connected wirelessly). 7.5.0 trunk SVN 29201, Windows XP. After a couple of tracks played, the player got into a really bad state; music stopped, and the UI was very slow to use. This is what was reported when the problem started to occur: [18:01:35.6523] Slim::Player::Protocols::File::sysread (218) Trying to read past the end of file:...

It's not high levels that don't make you worry about noise but high currents. So your speaker cables don't have issues (with high levels, that is, you can still have noise in your silence) but if you transmit a line signal against a high-impedance input (as your amp should have) you can still see lots of noise and that's independent of the level, you _can_ have high noise levels against high impedance inputs because the...

i am becoming more and more convinced that SBS and Windows Defender don't play nice together. i just restarted my system, and after awhile the HD wasn't going crazy, but was busy seemingly without reason. i checked task manager, and my CPU was pegged at 50% (its similar to 100% of a one core chip b/c of HT) by msmpeng.exe aka win def. it was going on and on like that for seemingly no reason. so, i stopped SBS via slimtray and the...

Looks like the tracks object has changed in 7.4 and the plugin needs updating.
I am not keeping up with 7.4 so can't say when that will be!

If it doesn't play then workarounds may be needed.
Are you in the UK ? It affects what workaround are feasible.

Hallo,

These are mp3s, yes? Andy has been tweaking the 7.5 scanner code and how it processes various verions of id3Vx tags. Is it possible that what you are seeing is related? See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=704 56

a) Die SB vom Strom trennst und
b) DHCP verwendest?
Dann muss nämlich die Box wohl beim Neustart erst konfiguriert ...

Interesting question.
Here are the pieces I've found myself going back to again and again over the last 15 years or so that I've listened to classical in no particular order:
Grieg's Piano Concerto
Sibelius Symphony No. 2
Brahms Symphony No. 2
Brahms Hungarian Dances
Beethoven's Nine symphonies - highlights for me are number 6 and 9.
Holst - The Planets
Mahler - Symphonies 1...

It depends on the gain in the amp for each of the respective inputs. All else being equal, louder sounds better.

Excuse me if I am hijacking your thread, but I also have a quick question for Mr. Adams, and if you don't mind, maybe he will be so kind to respond to me on this thread.
Do you think that purchasing a Transporter in order to use just its digital outputs makes sense ? (I already have both a SB3 and a Duet). In other words, what do you think about the jitter of the S/PDIF outputs of SB3 vs ...
