If you have just joined Sky your line will be on its training speed. You should have been advised of this in your activation letter. Post your stats for confirmation. The wireless problem is different. You should try changing the channel and mode in the router. Try No 13 for the channel and 54g Performance for the Mode. If you are in a heavily populated area, download and use Inssider from the link below. This will show you all the networks...

OK I think my two problems were related. Jogging the device caused the blue screen again - clearly I hadn't tightened the connections fully. So I got out my small pliers; the connectors are tight & shaking the HDFury2 doesn't cause any problems now. Many thanks to my friend Ziggy for remotely diagnosing the problem.

For Sky+ the drive needs to be IDE (PATA now) which are slowly being phased in favour of SATA out and so getting these drives is getting harder.
You can copy over your programs using the COPY+ program
Copy+, the free Sky & XTV disk copier software
and this would also format the drive to the correct format as Sky uses a non standard format.

Just get a magic eye and connect it to RF2, simple and under £10.
How enclosed will the receiver be? They do not like poor ventilation or running hot, you may find that it fails before too long.

anyway, the better way is to reorganize firewall rules panel completely, in particular reducing nvram usage and achieving pat rules permanently
doing it's a bit hard but it can be done, at least as a command line execution

This does look like an excellent feature but I had real problems registering for this, and even now it works if I send a text message but I cannot use the sky.com TV listings to start Remote Record. Whenever you click the button to record a problem it says you are not logged in (even though you are?)

If you have an NTE5(link below) socket get, fit and plug your router into a filter faceplate. With so much wiring it is not surprising that you are getting a poor performance.

Try the speedtester here Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester
Are you using wireless or wired?
EDIT: Taking a second look at your stats and it's apparent that you're actually on the Connect package! This will account for your poor speeds as Connect is heavily throttled. Are you sure you're supposed to be on...
