Agreed. Randy's strategy is based on the concept of "octagon control." OC is fine, when someone actually puts it to use to finish someone. Like a guy getting a guy against the cage, taking him down, then eventually subbing or tko'ing his opponent. But when it's just hugging for the sake of hugging, then it's just a manipulation of poor judging criteria and incompetent judges.

I like both and they can both learn from each other. I would like seeing boxing tournaments with multiple opponents in 1 night. However I would also like to see superfights (or whatever they call it when you only fight one opponent in 1 night in K-1) extended to 6/9 rounds or something. 3 rounds sucks when it's just a single fight. 3 rounds should only be for tournament nights.

I am at a smaller school (BJJ-wise) and i agree with most of what you have to say. A greater diversity of people to roll with would be awesome - and more big guys, too.
However, with the H1N1 running around, attendance has been real sparse and more than a few times this autumn, I have received a semi-private (2-3 people) for free. Cannot beat that. My game is rapidly diversifying as a result.
