I sometime question the second hand comments that I have heard about minor accidents/incidents regarding segways... I do not doubt what you have reported even a tiny bit, but there are always perceptions that are different... I recall seeing a woman in a hallway outside of an elevator. I was in the elevator when it arrived on her floor, and the door opened, and I glode out... She was not expecting it, but I came no where near her, and she...

Happy Thanksgiving
Published (2009-11-26 18:05:00)
Over here, Thanksgiving is just a weird holiday the Americans celebrate in movies... :O But n Segways are allowed at the table, as long as n > 0, and n = ℝ. Otherwise, why be thankful? There would be no Segways! (Or an imaginary amount of Segways (Well, last time i checked, i couldn't use i Segways for anything :P (I'd need at least 2 then! "i2"... *Evil laugh at bad joke*)), which is just as bad )

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,...est=latestnews This is not a Segway news article so I didn't post it in the news forum. It just struck me, however, that insult experienced by the paralympic champ would be similar to users of Segways who are told to get off and to clamber into a wheelchair. A slightly tenuous link but it's the first thing I thought when I read it. It would be an insult. Good on him

my i2 dose not like the cold
Published (2009-11-26 22:43:00)
Martin's right. The early i2's came with a radio board that does not like to work when cold, by warming the unit up and/or plugging it in you will warm the the radio board up to a point where it will work. Certain dealers can indeed fix this problem in house although IIRC some have to ship the unit back to INC for the radio board upgrade. -segsurfer

Sema and Segway didn't mix...
Published (2009-11-23 21:28:00)
I have operated a Seg on the floor of a relatively crowded exposition. It was no problem to stay with the flow, stop, or turn as needed. However, I wouldn't want to be on a Seg in a REALLY crowded environment, where people are shoulder to shoulder. In that environment, wheelchairs and scooters are a problem, but if they get bumped, they do not react to maintain balance.

Finally a "real" ripoff, instead of those 3-4-wheeled wannabe's! :P
It seems to lack power, and their implementation seems unstable (It looks like it tries to be 100% upright at all times, which limits your control, while the Segway intentionally is, I don't know, sloppier?)

There is a known problem with the radio board in cold weather. Best bet is to contact your dealer to take care of the issue.

How far had you been gliding?
The indicator is most likely way off, you'll have to run a full cycle or two in order to achieve any sort of precision again... It haven't learned how the new cells react yet.

Yeah it aired last night here and it was hilarious watching Froy try to mount the Segway as it was rolling away from him.
What surprised me was that Froy actually picked the i2 up by the lean steer and put it in the pickup truck. Adrenaline must have played a part in that.
Operation Repo is one of my favorite shows.
