Hi Des, Doesn't appear to be out yet, although it's mentioned. I checked the Symantec download site, and there's no mention of it... These are the services which are loaded and unloaded in Memory to be precise when you have a schedule scan computer should be turneed on and Symantec Endpoint Protection Services must be loaded when the scan is scheduled to take place. You can try that method... export it from other pc and import it here and then run setup.. Do you have any AV running in the pc which is not uninstalled properly. try to uninstall old AV first... The Windows device manager should see two devices... a medium changer, and the drives themselves. BE then interprets that and it gets listed as a device there... Hopefully though, just a single drive will suffice for you for the time being. Why do people complain about support wait times, when there is an online portal? http://mysupport.symantec.com

Were these features installed in the earlier version? If yes then on one client try restarting the machine and check if the PTP & NTP feature comes up. In case it doesnt then you can go ahead with the above suggestions. Thanks & Regards Sandip C Sali

gamingdexter, What version of Ghost are you using? Is it Ghost Solution Suite 2.5? If not, you should be entitled to a free upgrade if you have a support contract. The reason I am asking is because I recommend a different PXE setup that is far less complicated and far more reliable utilizing the new version. What account does the Netbackup service run as ?. If it's not the " Local System Account" Netbackup may not have sufficient permissions.

yes, Nom version was not matching to master server version(6.5.4) After upgrading NOM..everything seems to be perfect
only issue is some time while sending reports through mails..it fails saying error while sending report.please contact administrator..are there any log files for NOM..through which reason of failrue can be known

Hi there,
Which version were you using, and which version are you trying to restore too?
If using SQL 2005 for example, you cannot open it on an SQL 2000 server...it's not backwards compatible unfortunately. You'd have to upgrade that version in your test environment.

Ghost is the cloning engine of Altiris DS as well as GSS platform, so no it wont be abandoned. GSS with support for WIndows 7 release was supposed to happen this September but was postponed.

You need to enable power management settings under Altiris Agent properties.
Also, check if you can wake up the machine using any third party tool. i hope you have enaled WOL settings from BIOS.

Do you have any error handling rules specified? Also, check schedule, for restart time interval. Make sure it is not set, otherwise the job may restart at intervals mentioned there.

can you post the sylink monitor logs from the client machine while it is supposed to be connected to SEPM by VPN?
Log might reveal the information the reason it i sunable to connect to SEPM.

Disable User Access Control ( UAC ) on the Client and push the install again. UAC block remote installation.

If the package is successfully pushed to the client then it will be in
C:\Temp\Clt-Inst\
Run it manually.

what is the version of SEP you are running previous versions had some issues with network shares.

You can try disabling all the Symantec services, reboot and then uninstall. If this fails, contact Tech Support and request for the Cleanwipe utility which will remove all traces of the SEP installation.

BTW - the GHOST SERVER, a Windows server 2003 machine with SEP fully enabled works great! No errors, no speed issues! So there's another success............

delete A00001 from the library & then use vmphyinv to 'recreate' the volume using its internal label of 131109, then follow the phase I & phase II import procedures.
If you try & use the label functionality of NetBackup you could (will?) lose the data on the tape.

we dont see any return value 3 in this log.
right click on the setup and try the RunAs option to install the SEPM
if that files. try running repair of your SEPM MR4 check that completes or even that rolls back.
