Good info Kiporby.  I was assuming the Falls flowed the other direction.  Do jigs need to be lead-free in the Quetico?  I make my own, but all lead.  I really like the road-runner style with a blade.  Any colors to recommend I paint?  There are really allot of campsites in the Saganagons.  I noticed there are some marks on the map that look like + signs...what are those? ...

A little sunshine, a little mist, some shadows and a glass smooth lake.  No better way or place to start the day.  View is looking north from the island campsite on Ester lake.

The plus signs are submerged reefs or rock piles.  (and usually a good fishing spot!). Jig colors?  Chartuese, Black or White.  Have had good luck with brown and orange twister tails.  But who really knows?!?  Ask the fish!

That's a nice map Tom made!  We usually troll Rapalas, black and silver or black and gold, around points and over reefs until we find walleye then we tie on jigs.  With all the current below Silver and the other falls it's easy to just vertical jig as you drift with the current.  Just be prepared to lose a lot of 'em.  I agree with Kip on the colors and the brown and orange...

Well, I looked at a lot of my pictures but I think I'll submit this one.  It's a lot like Daves, but it was just so peaceful looking with the water calm and the reflection of the colors I just thought it looked really nice.

This is my favorite since I think it really captures the essence of the Boundary Waters experience. The subject is my best friend and stern paddler. He has a very stressful job and the week we spend in the Quetico is his time to recharge. Can you feel the serenity? The picture was taken on a small island in Saganagons during the last week in June. The fish picture is attached for your enjoyment (non entry). I call it...

Merry Christmas to all!!! I am planning a 2010 trip in the June time period.  Not sure of the exact plans as of yet.  When I have more time I will share. I'm excited to get back up there this year.

I admit it Kip, I'm a Quetico junkie I carry all my maps around with me at work year round. Thinking about a falls chain trip and just looking for other areas to explore and fish. Almost that time of year to be putting in the vacation request at work My son keeps telling me we want to go for as close to a 14 day trip as work will allow this year Dave

Hey KipO ~ The Gabi, Little Sag lakes are beautiful. Gabi is large and one that you would want to try to take in calm weather (like we really have options there) We took it in the early morning to try to get around the mid-morning breeze kick-up. The northeast end of Little Sag was effected by the Cavity Lake fire a few years ago. I haven't been to Tuscarora but understand it is pretty nice too....

Stayed in Big Sag Cabin last year...great cabin, plenty of space, tv, electric fire place/or gas???? in living room...3 of us stayed there in June 09. Very nice! As far as how much of the lake...you can go the better part of the lake, hook island, red rock bay, over to Sag Falls...plenty of room to roam. You have to stay on the American side if you don't have a Canadian fishing license...so, ...

Does this help? Actually, the entire BWCA has burnt at one time or another. So, the whole forest is just in different stages of the process.

Let's get this contest going! I'll post a couple pictures. Can't win, but it is still fun to see all the pictures. Let see em boys and girls!! One is from the boys trip on the way out. We just finished the Silver Falls Portage and posed for our traditional photo there. The other is getting ready for the truck ride to the Sag Landing with my kid.
