Re: The Asylum *Stands on tiptoe, reaches up into the rafters and plucks the little troll out of them* Come on, you, before you make yourself sick, bouncing around like that. Say thank you to Grimley. "Thanks, Mr.Grim!" *Carries the giggling troll under one arm, and bounces her onto the sofa cushions* If you're good, I'll introduce you to the Diresters later. You'll have to behave, though, they're...

Oh, hon, I didn't mean for the whole thing to be double spaced! It should just be like: paragraph line break new paragraph line break new paragraph If you look up to your other post, I did that for you, so you don't have to repost at all! I'm so sorry that I confused you! But, you are still missing some quotation marks and periods in your story. Its very hard to critique a good story when we have to edit for basic grammar. Take...

Re: The Asylum Hoops, remember she's half pixie so does have some magic. You might also want her to change her appearance if you take her shopping. Guys, I don't want to alarm anyone but Zerk was telling me that renegade trolls no longer change to stone in the sunlight, someone has been messing with the troll laws.

Anyone RP?
Published (2009-11-06 23:10:00)
*blinks* no RP here? You sure about that Mana?? We've got light RP here most of the time if you head down to the lounge area and poke your head into the Asylum. We tried one or two more serious ones too though they can sometimes die the death of inaction - but still fun all the same

Finished Blood of the Mantis by Adrian Tchaikovsky - it was OK, I doubt I will continue the series though (unless I pick them up cheap!)
Have just started on Nights of Villjamur from Mark Charan Newton - few chapters in and I like it, pretty sure it was a recommendation from someone on this forum too!

The Asylum *as before, a pinpoint of light appears in the void. the light swiftly expands, walls appear and take on substance even as they grow to support a massive structure, a room nearly the size of an assembly hall, with a mixture of architectural styles, from moorish and arabesque to something nearly resembling a frank lloyd wright nightmare or piece of frank r. paul art. in ...

Thanks Taltos. I do have the time to read but not as much as I would like; though I do have the habit of taking time off work and not doing anything but read. Also tend to read through the night and almost all the time on weekends. My parents have taken to calling up once a day if they are away to tell me to 'eat now' and we will call in a while to check.
This particular sale happens ...

In the last day in four separate adverts the UK government has repeatedly told me to:
1. Don't eat too much salt. Examine the amount of salt in my food. Done via a comedian.
2. Eat healthily, and use some sort of snackometer to help me replace a burger with a banana. Done through the medium of morph like models.
3. Don't smoke. A child's plea to camera.
4. Grown ups are killing the planet ...

where is the gritty realism in fantasy ? First I tried ursulsa Le Guin and enjoyed it up to a point but rather came crashing down to earth in the first earthsea book when the central character faced with a dragon simply turned into a dragon himself. I persevered and finished the book but the damage was done.
I was very excited about fritz lieber but having come to the end of the...

I'll say the same thing as I did in the space hotel thread.
Another silly way for silly rich people to spend their hard-stolen money. A moon colony, really. *Shakes head* I'd never be caught dead in a place like that; it would have absolutely no atmosphere.

Re: The author or the genre? Yes.
I'm finding nowadays just because you enjoyed a book there is no guarantee that the same author will produce/continue the standard with his/her next title.
So why not take a punt on another genre. Though I doubt I would switch to any romantic bodice rippers whoever wrote the book.
