BigTallDad: I'm not advocating you run out and purchase blank media; just don't throw those clear ones away. I've been keeping those clear discs but hadn't yet figured out what, if anything, to do with them. I just had a feeling that they might someday come in useful. Thanks for the tip, BTD.

I don't have a special parts stash, but I do separate parts in order, like a junk yard. Engines, transmissions, axles, dash board parts etc...

Great article and some great builds. I have a few of those same kits some built some still on the shelf. It seems like Nascar modeling hit it's peak in the 90's, but I still have a large stash of kits to keep me busy for a long time. Thanks for sharing.

I started building models at age 10. I got a '60 Merc Comet annual from the class nerd who probably had no idea what sort of a gift to give a car nut. Mom & Dad probably helped. I would have had no idea what to get him. I've built models off and on since then. During the years I worked as a mechanic or parts man, I learned alot about cars in general and what a model is supposed to look like ...

Good Luck! Looks like you have a challenge ahead of you, but I think you can do it! 57 Chevy, 59 Impala, on a Corvette Frame! Looking forward to seeing you progress on this build. Just a thought, but if you could find a "CheZoom" model to work with, you would have a closer looking front end and save on some of the bod work.

That will be a very nice color. I just saw that B5 on a 2010 Challenger and it is now my favorite new color. The more models I see of these Coronets the more I like the look of them and I didn't really like them at one time.

Patrick - Most "hobbies" have been blown out of the ball park as far as price are concerned.. Sometimes "hobby shops" aren't the best places to look for models. Depending on what you're looking for, places like Micheal's have a fair selection and even Walmart used to have some (don't know if they still do) at much better prices, if they are running two-fer sales all the better. Then there's ...

Way to go on that paint job. Its funny how of all the colors on this car black is the one I do not like. I think it makes the car look too short but because you lowered it the length came back. Again nice job with the rattle can

Ok, here`s the tank so far, this was a days work in itself It`s rough now, but with a little filler and sanding I think it`s gonna be fine. It seems I made the tank too round, but I am NOT taking it apart to correct that now! Think it will still look OK when it`s done. Gonna take the dolly off an AMT Fruehauf tanker truck and make the rear suspension and will also use ...
