What was Sarah Palin's grade point average in college? If you want to know, ask her! You can sign the Petition to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to Voluntarily Release Her College Grade Point Average on the Care2 petitionsite. The petition summary and letter offer good reasons why voters should be able to consider this information. And besides, didn't your employer inquire about your education and experience when interviewing you? Were...

When Two Are Cheaper Than One July 7, 2009: Congress and the Department of Defense procurement bureaucracy are currently arguing over whether it would be prudent to have two suppliers of engines for the F-35. The Pentagon believes that this would cost an additional $4 billion. But those with memories (or the energy to look it up) of the "Great Engine War" in the 1980s, knows that, in the long run, two suppliers are almost...

The heat is on— Excessive heat is building in the southern Plains, with heat advisories stretching through much of Texas and extending into parts of Louisiana and Oklahoma. Some highs will be 5 to 15 degrees above average, with heat index values ranging from 105 to 115 degrees. http://www.usatoday.com/weather/forecast/2009-07-0 9-storms-plains-upper-midwest_N.htm What was that nonsense ...

there would be a certain irony of us actually entering a cooling cycle while algore and friends are foaming at the mouth about global warming. It's kinda like the stock market, everyone is the must bullish at the top. The GWers are rabidly bullish on global temperatures. Time to buy puts on global temperature.

The drought in California is not caused by warming. It is caused by ocean currents. Specifically the El Nino/La Nina cycle. California has been unusually cool this year. But you really can't make any judgement on global warming by looking at isolated local temperatures. The simple fact is that the globe has been in a cooling trend for 11 years now. This in spite of growing (but ...

I think this is a common belief now, but I am not so sure. Prior to last year's dump folks were sure gold will go up as it did in 2001-2003. Initially gold stocks really crashed in 2000, but then they made the bottom in the Fall and never looked back. Quite possibly, the same dynamics will apply during this recession. Now that folks are sure gold will be dumped, it will soar, as it did ...
