something came to mind earlier. as far as i can remember there is only one air hose hooked up to the AOS, the vacuum hose that goes to the j-boot. would it make sense in assuming that a breather tube (fresh air) wouldn't be necessary? or is there some other air line im forgetting?

I think I will stick to pavement !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5oAkaUK37A The salt flats would be fun if we could set the front of the trap about 3 miles out... cuz the surface is so frigging fast once you get up there. What do they call it then -- the flying mile right ??

Ed I would love to offer up some help, I'm a good wrench as long as I have instructions. I can also help out with getting the interior cleaned up and back together.
Question...do you happen to have a heated garage, can'ts stand wrenching in the cold.
PM me when you get the car and you're ready to get started.

If anyone wants to make a small donation to Richard for the shipping costs, I am sure it will help out with donations. Some of the parts donations such as seats, engine blocks, carpet get a little pricey to ship even by bus. Every little bit helps. I did an estimate and it runs about $1/lb to ship by bus for large items.

guys... I posted "190 mph in a Porsche 968" in the 968 forum. Naturally, the question equally applies to the 944... a crucial topic in the "190 mph" post are sources for transaxle gears that make high top end... and that is why I am also posting this topic here...
since so many of you build very fast 944s that run out of gear TOO SOON, anyone with information about gearsets in the .550 to ....

Another white one. Of all the colors, seems like the Carrera White is the most readily available. Dont know why. Did they make too many in that color?

Umm... I'm no engine expert, but I have a hunch that the primary limitation of the 944 engine, when compared to an LS1, is: it's a whole lot freakin' smaller and has only half the number of cylinders!!
I mean, seriously, a 944 is 2.5 liters. I think an LS1 is 5.7 liters. A 500 HP 944 engine would be equal to an 1,100 HP LS1! How many of those do you see? I know of some, but they're ...
