I'll have to look around.....I did a recent green smoothie fast/apple juice fast that lasted two weeks. After drinking 2 quarts of apple juice for three days, which is only 800 calories, I GAINED three pounds, which have not come back off yet, even though I ended the fast two weeks ago. So obviously I am still really insulin resistant in spite of my improved blood sugar numbers. And all of the recipes I find for green juice add carrots...

I've been taking E3Live for more than a year and I know it really helps. For one thing, it has all the B vitamins. I am so sold on it that I just started my husband on it. He's as SAD as they come, so he really needs it. I think it is worth every penny! Annie

Hi Annie, I have to try the sour cream recipe again and start over. I don't think it's fermented long enough, since the climate it's so dry here. So I'm thinking maybe that has something to with it. When I make this recipe again, I'm gonna leave it out to ferment longer to see if that is the case. I think with added vanilla, it might've tasted like the actual whipped cream.

Thanks everyone... When our birthday (Lanie and Lan) comes around the week after Valentines, we are already planning our raw food party! So you can expect more photos then! Likewise, at last weigh in I had retired 232 lbs. In 32 more pounds to retire and I will be exactly half of the 528 lbs I was a few years ago! HALF SIZE! (Same height!) I will dig out more before and after photos then... One thing I really like is going to the bank now and...

You'll have to Spice and Heat up your Life. Eat Foods that are Spicy Hot like Cayenne and Teas. I don't like the Cold Weather. Frankly I don't know what I would do and that's the Truth. I be walking around like the "Mic.Tire Man".

Hi Katchmoleen I've got a few answers for you here... Quote: One never need worry about going into ketosis eating nuts and seeds, as they have a balanced nutritional profile of protein, fats, and carbohydrates. - Unfortunately nuts and seeds don't have enough carbohydrates to meet our sugar needs to keep us out of Ketosis. Eg - Macadamias only have 13gms of carbs, 75gms of fat> Almonds 19gms carbs, 50gms fat> walnuts...

Hi rawffle,
I personally love wearing makeup, I just wear it around the house sometimes. I used to own lots of commerical junk products, but since I went raw, it's been nothing but natural makeup for me. It's more money, but definitely worth it.
Suggestions... let me go through my makeup bag...

Welcome Marc. All of those issues can be healed with raw. Good fats are always a must with any health condition. You can't live without them. Raw organic fats are good for you and are nothing like the unhealthy ones which negatively affected you before.
You can make plenty of smoothies without fats. Just fruit and greens or even a savory one with greens and veggies.

I just read your blog. Amazing story you have to tell. I was especially interested in your experience with the mono eating. It definately has inspired me to try this. I'm curious, how did you eliminate the previous addictions? Did they just fade away from being raw?

There's tons of positive and negative opinions regarding cacao. I don't believe it's toxic for everyone. If you feel negative effects from it, then obviously it's not for you. I don't feel a difference one way or the other. It doesn't make me feel good or bad, it's just an enjoyable flavor. I've been raw for a few years, and won't eat it for a long time and still feel nothing different when I do....

Here is my sweet little buddy Binky. She is a gem. She has been with me for five years or so. She is little but full grown. She is such a companion to me. She loves raw food. Sleeps in my arms every night. Comes running if I laugh or cry. Plays games with me. Loves people and cuddles them. I will add more later. Enjoy...and what a great thread!!! Thankx.Chewy is so adorable!!!

Just remember, those doctors and dieticians are trained in the SAD or SCD (Standard Canadian Diet). They will not know anything about the raw diet. So they are going to give you advice that lines in with what they know. Just know that basically NO doctor or dietician cures or reverses diabetes and heart disease, in fact they will tell you you can only control it. But I believe our bodies can cure...

I am definitely having a raw thanksgiving - but, for myself... My husband, son and I will be going to my in-laws for the day (after we get home from church) and I will be making myself the Portobello Steak's and Mashed Potatoes from Matthew Kenney's Everyday Raw. This will be my main meal. I'm looking for a side dish - a good stuffing recipe or my old fallback - Broccoli Salad. I will also...
