Pat tells me that my FreeWheel should fit all Tilite models without modification other than minor adjustment. It can be configured to fit almost all rigid frame chairs and he is able to supply an assortment of shims and component parts to make this possible. If you wish to make me an offer, just PM me the make and model of your chair, and the type and size of the footplate/rest. I will check with Pat to see if modifications are needed, and I...

Too many times to count! Let's see......I'm pretty sure it's at least a couple times a year & since it's been 19&1/2+ yrs now.......well do the math. Hitting hardwood floors reinforces why they're called HARD-wood floors. Oh & cement......is very unforgiving. If you're going to fall out of your chair best place to do it as is some grass.....Mother Nature was kind enough to at least...

QUOTE (gordonr @ Nov 7 2009, 05:40 PM) Hey Q, How did you get back up into the chair? I ask this, because I used to be able to transfer from the ground to the chair, but now I cannot. It is a combination of sore shoulders and a heavier me. Anyway, the last couple of times I looked aound for a low box, put that beside the bed, and then transferred from the ground to the box, from the box to the bed, and then from the bed to...

Okay - next thing is down bootees - ( link for example not for seller ) My sister gave me some similar ones a while back as her and mum used to concerned about the colour of my feet (blue and purple hues). They're pretty good, though these days I don't get to wear them much as my gf has taken a bit of a liking to them for herself.

Part of my youth was spent growing up in Beverly Hills. Jr. high and high school. I partied with a lot of the actors you see in movies and on TV today. Falling Out Of Wheelchair
Published (2009-11-07 09:30:00)
I fell out of the bed twice when I was little, then another time I was walking in my RGO's, and my therapist walked away, and I don't know what happened, but I fell backwards. That was a rough landing, considering the fact that I fell at like a 5 foot distance. But I've never fallen out of my chair before. I hate getting hurt, so I will go to great extremes to make sure it doesn't happen, lol. I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt. I...

Hi Thanks for the update. I had been thinking that all was well with you...'no news is good news' scenario. Seems like you have been having a rough time. As far as I'm concerned you can come on here and have a moan any time you like...just sorry there's nothing I can do to help. Thinking of you and sending a big hug L

Sounds like there's this rock and right up next to it is a hard place. With you kinda in the middle. I'm not quite sure how long you've been injured but I'll tell you this much; after two or three years most SCI's have gotten the majority of motor function back that will come back. Of course we occasionally hear about folks who experience vast spurts of improvement at odd times in their ...

I can't answer all of your questions, but I can try on a few. I've heard of people being on long term antibiotics. They switch up the type to avoid any amunities to it, and the do it often. Caths should be changed once a month. Six weeks at the most. Perhaps the lack of changing is part of the issue? I'd reccomend leg bags with flip valves. http://www.greatmedicalsupplies.com/supply......

So I have some awesome news! Quickie/Sunrise Medical (Canada) approached me via the sales rep for my current chair, a Quickie Ti, and asked me if I'd like to be a model for the new Q7 chair, which is the North American version of the Helium. I, of course, said yes! Modeling gig aside, I had seen the Q7 on Sportaid and thought it looked really really cool. The chair is not on the market...

It started my spasms off, I got a throbbing head-ache down to my neck too and I went all red and blotchy. This happened for the next 4 - 5 times each time getting less severe. I have yet to fall out of my chair, although I have fallen once while transferring from the bed. I didn't pop up enough and my leg pushed the chair away and I slid down between the bed and the chair.

QUOTE (NewDisability @ Nov 6 2009, 05:43 PM) Erik Kondo, a wheelchair self-defence instructor, brought to my attention a campaign he is behind to battle a type of prejudice which, in Erik's words "takes advantage of and promotes an extremely negative perception of wheelchair users". My spouse dived into a "sponge pit" 10 months ago. He is now a C5/6. Avoiding an accident is like trying to predict the future. You can never truly avoid anything unless you live in a bubble. We cope with honesty, humor, and hope. We allow ourselves to feel down. We say what we feel even if it's hard to say/ hear. We hope that we will find this gets easier with time. Best of all we ...
