The relevance of organized/day to day use of fire relates not to meat consumption - you could then as you can now eat any kind of 'meat' (including fish and eggs) raw. But when it comes to items that were gathered rather than hunted - quite a few needed either cooking or processing in some way before they were edible at all. This is further evidence 'we' were primarily hunters. Quote: Also, did the Paleolithic ice age, to...

Hi James. I am not sure that I would base any conclusions on hunter/gatherer diets from a report of a two week visit of any one group. If you really want to know about hunter/gatherers go to the anthropology literature which is repleat with ethnographies of hunter/gatherers based upon (usually) a two year period of living with the group. This provides an annual cycle of eating based upon ...

Happy Thanksgiving to the US population and a cheery good morning to everyone else! I'm a little late because I took the opportunity to sleep later. Randy, I didn't notice you had started, so I merged with you. Thanks!
My meals are planned. There will be a snack this morning and then dinner at one and a small meal in the evening (probably leftover turkey and green beans).
Right ...

Happy Thanksgiving right back!
I am enjoying a relaxing day - no dinner until the evening meal, so I've slept in, taken the dogs for a long walk, and now I'm working on my website while the red cabbage cooks.
Have a good holiday everyone!

I ordered a couple of the free bottles of the stuff (s&h came to about $9). LC eating cured my GERD, and I no longer take the daily Prilosec (before Prilosec became OTC, I was taking a prescription drug, Protonix). I had GERD for over 10 years, with daily medication that controlled it (mostly).
I had GERD every night. In fact, we thought I had sleep apnea due to fatigue and "micro-sleep" ...

You can't really draw any definite conclusions about calories without looking deeper into the data ... but it certainly is suggestive.
The other thing you probably won't see highlighted is that the low fat dieters almost certainly get far more support than the low carbers - as I recall the Registry is highly biased towards weight loss 'programs' such as Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig - or at ...

Good morning! You who are observing Thanksgiving tomorrow, are you home today or are you on your way somewhere? Traveling can be tricky with respect to low carb. Hope you are successful!

Personally the only water I drink at home is distilled (1 Gal or 2.5 Gal jugs from the grocery store). I indulge in Diet Rite, probably more than I should.

Dessie, I know that hypothyroid and adrenals can make losing weight more difficult. I have a hard time understanding how you can have fbs of 300 and NOT be diabetic? Go see your doctor. Or get a new one.
How long has it been since you had an A1c test? A new one might tell you if your blood sugar has been running high for the last couple of months.
When I exercise, my blood sugar drops...

I hear the desperation in your "voice", I know where you are coming from. Realize that it is the carbs and sugar that have overtaken your good sense. It causes bingeing and overeating. You eat some, you want more, you think about it, your body demands you give in, you feel terrible. It is SO HARD, I know. I've eaten a whole pie, whole cake, and many other things that you wouldn't want to ...
