Gordon and I just got back from the supermarket. It was just as expected; crowded. In years past we have had a turkey or at least parts. This year we decided a chicken would be enough. And now, w/ my current dental situation, we are foregoing that. (The kitties won't get their usual turkey treats this year.) Anyhoo, the important thing is, it's peaceful. Unlike my childhood holidays, nobody is drunk or fighting. Last night I was...

xmrv...the next step
Published (2009-11-24 22:30:00)
Acyclovir is about 3x less potent than Valtrex-and so many of us have been on Valtrex (including myself at high doses for a substantial period of time) and are still very sick. Acyclovir would only target some herpes viruses. I think if Ampligen was suggested for XMRV, or CFS, right now, there would be about a million insanely frustrated and upset people in the US alone. Because there's only I believe 3 doctors you can get it from, no FDA...

I shop at Walmart as it provides pet needs and people needs for every month within a tight budget. The Walmart near us isn't crowed during the week so that's when I shop and it is also clean. They also get some fantastic clearances at the Walmart near me that I just can't beat anywhere else.

Very well said - we are extremely fortunate to have Rich as our tireless advocate, investigator, researcher and supporter - I've been doing his methylation protocol off and on for about 2-1/2 years, I think I'm making progress (very slow but steady) which I think would have been impossible otherwise - Rich is an invaluable presence on this and other boards, for which I am extremely grateful. Catseye..your weight loss diet
Published (2009-11-25 02:52:00)
What have you been eating the last few days? Remember to avoid root veggies, too, like potatoes, because they are very high carb. Also, the water helps to flush out the body so that is an integral part of the weight loss process. But don't drink too much with meals, you dilute the acid and enzymes you need for digestion. Aloelax by Nature's Way. I try not to take it mor than 3-4 times per week. It's made up of aloe and fennel seed. Don't know if it would help you or not. There are a lot of aloe products out there for constipation issues. Plus there's aloe vera juice/gel. You gotta try and see if they help you.

Need to work this out now. Actually, I do not see it as that big of an issue for me unless I want to make it one. HIV coming on the seen has already done a lot of the work. Once it is known how contagious XMRV is and the methods of passing this xmrv (if this turns out to be the cause) as well as the prevalence of this retrovirus, money will become available as the public begins to panic--when ...

Rena, I have the same exact symptom. Occasionally when I get into a bad relapse I will get this. Right now I have had it for 5 weeks. I have never known what might cause it, however, someone here on the board suggested that I may have Lyme disease. It can be a symptom of that. It helps me a little to go outside on a windy day and get some fresh air, however, it doesn't totally make it go...

The medication will take several weeks to kick in. You won't even feel the full effects for at least 6 weeks, so give it time. Second....You have a very negative attitude, and this can and will affect everything surrounding your world, and recovery. Yes, you have been through a very hard time, and are probably still suffering from the death of your boyfriend, but it doesn't have to effect ...

I wonder if they are counting the number of hits on this part of the website, like they are with the video of the mtg there are several very good written testimonies.....only a couple that had some things that made me cringe (name calling in one and another one that seemed vaguely supportive of the CDC, although I think it was unintentional, bc it still pointed out problems with them, as well...

Welcome to the board! I'm sorry you are dealing with this illness at a young age and with children. There are many here who can relate to your issues. I'm older and have fibro. I'm wondering, are you diabetic? The burning, numbness and tingling could be related to diabetes. Were you tested for this? Fay

I always have projects started around my apartment. I like to always be doing something. Jole, just relax and take your good time, and you'll get all your projects finished. There's no hurry. ladybugmancy - I'm going to be trying low-dose naltrexone (see lowdosenaltrexone.org) as soon as I get a prescription from my doctor. I see him in two weeks. Read about it - it's supposed to boost the immune system with very minimal side effects. It's helping some AIDS patients, people's Crohn's, MS. I'm hoping it will boost my immune system as I am almost constantly fighting a bug. ...

The world is full of people like your mother in law. It is almost impossible to change other people's behavior. "Get toxic people outta your life." that's what one of my therapists told me. She doesn't need to visit you and vice versa. Don't waste time and effort trying to educate someone who doesn't want to be educated. Your health is at stake. Don't let concerns about being ...

Thanks for posting this, but I'm having trouble understanding. Could you translate this paragraph into layperson's language: "On further examination of this paper, I noted that the mean values of the parameter used to quantify glutathione in this study were 2.703 for 13 CFS/ME patients, and 5.191 for 13 matched normal controls. (There are no units on this derived parameter.) However, the ...

How do you even get to go on Ampligen? I mean how can one get it if it's not FDA approved yet? Was A.Whittemore in an ampligen trial maybe? I'm sure she gets first class care at her new institute. I'm so happy/excited for the Whittemore- Peterson institute. I can't wait to get tested for XMRV...Dr.Montoya is compiling a list of patients to be tested for XMRV when the test becomes available. ...
