QUOTE (InStride @ Nov 8 2009, 06:28 PM) I thought terror was only for enemy units while abomination applied to both friendly and enemy, but the things I read suggest otherwise (like being unable to use 'naires near Thag). That's right. Terror only applies to enemy models and Abomination applies to both enemies AND friendlies. Legionnaires I think are the more durable of the two units, and Swordsmen the more...

Well, you have to be able to capatalize on their mistakes, but yes, this game is like the World Series: The fewer errors you make, the better chance you have to win. It really is an aggressive game, something I enjoy over other games I've played. Granted, this isn't freedom to be a tard to your opponent, but i see it kind of like rugby: You meet on the field, beat the crap out of each other, then go for a beer afterwards.

Welcome to the Iron Kingdoms! *gives lbird a cookie and a Crusader plushie* I'm a rather fast painter, myself. I got a Stormclad and a Trencher Chain Gun Crew done both in the same day, then the next day did two Stormblades and the Swordknight UA. Granted, it's a relatively simple color scheme, but that's beside the point. PB

Hm, good so far, but I gotta keep testing you! This was pulled off a Deathripper Jacks profile. WEAPONS [Deathripper] Mandible [1x] (Head)POW: 6 P+S: 13 Sustained Attack - During this modelʼs activation, when it makes an attack with this weapon against the last model hit by the weapon this activation, the attack automatically hits. So can I attack twice with that weapon standard, one of those being auto hit? Or is it if I...

Yeah I love the Signs and Portents spell, I also love how my Iron Fangs can go from killing troops to Warjacks. In my first win Vlad killed the Warcaster, it was awesome!

OK cool. So I can use the Incubi with 'naires and not have to worry about threshhold checks. I might try that soon on Vassal. Make a nice solid line that one will think twice about attacking with the bladeguard and incubi coming out. Thank you for all the help, I really appreciate it!

I got sick of speaking English. Jk No, I'm finishing up a degree (and I wanted to parle français). When I'm done I'll be back in WI, Sheboygan area, about an hour north of you. Here in Montréal I think I saw a bit of support but mostly its something that my friends in the States have been trying to get me into (and it's been working). You're already a step ahead of me since I've been using my friends models...

I like it, its faster and easier to use than the other online army builder. A few things though: 1. Where are Cygnar's Ranger Unit? 2. Orin Midwinter doesn't work for Cygnar. 3. I can only add one of the three Trencher Grendiars allowed in a Trencher Unit. Same goes for the Winterguard and their Rocketeers. 4. Where is Anastasia Di Bray? 5. Where is Eiryss, Angel of Retribution (Epic ...

Noooo! Not another new player! Oh wait, those are good. Welcome to Warmachine! Like yourself, i'm hesitant to get into a game unless there's a crowd (or an interest) at my local gaming area. While Warmachine/Hordes isn't nearly as rampant as 40K (yet), there's still a solid group of people who play. Khador is a fun smashy faction. They're deceptively slow, and will pretty much wreck ...

QUOTE (InStride @ Nov 8 2009, 01:04 PM) I was just looking to get the final word on how exactly damage transference works. From what I gather, you can, once per turn, choose to defer all damage from an attack on your warlock to a warbeast for 1 fury. Is it that? Or is it that you may, for each fury point spent, defer that much damage to a warbeast (more than once a turn)? Thank you ...

See, i work in a Chapel, and it's one of the main reasons i've stayed away from Protectorate. To each their own tho. Morvana is a tricky caster. If you can get her spells set up right, she can do a lot of damage and be very frustrating. But she kind of needs to get her combo/spells going, else she just fizzles. I think that's why a lot of people don't enjoy playing her. I think you'll...

Welcome to the Forums! So ya wanna be a 'ganger, eh? Go ahead and start running events now, because you never know how long the application process will take. Be patient, send an occasional 'update request' email to the Quartermaster, and sooner or later you'll be buying breakfast for all the Pressgang. Good luck, and see you around!

You know, I've got to learn to use Vassal sometime. I know it's not that complicated, I've just never gotten around to actually doing it. What I would recommend is starting out with the boxed set or rough equivalent - a caster and a couple of jacks. Caster and jacks only is called "Mangled Metal" format and it's the best way to start learning the rules, tactics, and focus management ...

Welcome to the Iron Kingdoms! *gives Gyozshil a cookie and a Leviathan plushie* And onto the questions: 1. When a model is doing it's Action portion of it's Activation, one option is "make an initial attack with each melee weapon against models in it's melee range." These attacks are free. So, say, a Juggernaut, who has an Ice Axe and a Fist, decides to make those initial melee attacks....

Well, if you've got the Guts and Gears from NQ 2, there's a solid layout of the long gunner uniform. The most difficult part is probably going to be that armor elements. QUOTE (Aetherus @ Nov 3 2009, 04:48 PM) So far, the Skorne have caught my interest. I picked up a Zaal and Makeda model. I've read that Zaal goes well with the Immortals, which is nice, since I find them really cool and are my next purchase (they remind me of characters of the same name from a certain numerically-named movie and book!).
