Since, I probably played a role in getting this started with an off-hand comment when Randall started slow in their semifinal match, here are my thoughts. 1.) Did Randall play as tough a schedule as some other of the elite teams in the state? No. 2.) The comments about incumbents are interesting to this newbie parent...using a hypothetical, lets say my DD tries out for SI next year as a U16. How many girls that are on SI U15 this year get told "just show up to tryouts and you are in once you sign the incumbent contract"? Do they tell some girls "we think you'll be a better fit somewhere else so don't even try out"? Do coaches do that, or is...

I am guessing those are the opponent's fans sitting behind the bench...they don't appear to be as joyful. Also, I might add...this is why many of of stay in the game by refereeing...to see the kids enjoying the game and themselves.

The Board hired a web design firm to redo the website. They were hoping to get the new site up several weeks ago but, as you say, nothing has happened.
Hopefully they will get the new site up and running shortly.

Some of the qualifiers are trying something new with club division ... they
are breaking club into 2 division, National and American, if both division
have more then 48 teams there will be one bid in each division ... if there
are less then 48 teams in either division, they will combine and do it like
it was the previous year.

Ofcourse there are some exceptions. If you pull on the net and yank it down to give your team an advantage.. etc etc.. However Those who swing there arms up
to block and hit the bttm of the net are ok now.. those setters late to the net and run into it are ok now.. those hitters who are high jumpers and kick the

Quality of competition has nothing to do with Bids, its strictly on # of
teams. So Cal will have 3 bids to offer...less can be offered if trickle
down goes past the amount specified in this years Bid Manual

There are some players not on this list that certainly deserve it. However, the AVCA requirements are clear:
1. Player must be nominated by their coach who is an AVCA member.
2. Have to use the maxpreps service so stats can be evaluated.
If a player is missing, it is likely that they were not nominated by their coach for one of a variety of reasons.
A true list would not take into ...

Now that the pairings are set for this year's tournament, how does everyone feel about the method used by the UIL to determine those pairings ??? i.e., The
two teams with the two best records are separated with one going to the top of the bracket and the other to the bottom of the bracket...I guess the assumption
is that these are the best two teams....then the team with the third best record ...

Whatever happens, this age group will make the 18 Open club Division 1 and 2 the most intense two divisions in the country. It's going to be a dogfight
every weekend. I sometimes wish we were still in it as those games are going to be incredible. It is going to be very, very hard to beat SBVC 18-1s this year
but I am sure the other clubs know what is going to happen and are prepared. Good luck to...

I think an evaluation needs to be made.

have one or two good teams and a few so so teams . But if you go the dfw you have 4 to 5 great teams in the same reg. that get knocked out by each other ever

Congratulations to the 2 players from Westwood. Very good players who were the 2 main cogs for the team. Especially happy for M. Smith. I think she had an
