Year-End Holidays
Published (2009-12-07 10:58:00)
It's a stress dealing with money... all sorts of things come due at this time (health insurance, long-term care insurance, income tax quarterly payments are the three biggies), to say nothing of holiday expenditures. And I really don't deal well with it... even when we were financially more secure, I didn't dea well with it.

Year-End Holidays
Published (2009-12-07 12:55:00)
? Are the year-end holidays a happy time, a stressful time, a depressing time or a triggering for you? Or maybe it's a combination? The year-end holidays don't really stress me out but I do get sad thinking another year has ended and looking at what I wanted to do but haven't. ? Hope do you cope with the stress? ? I don't stress over it but I try not to dwell on the end so I won't get as sad and I do try to look...

Are the year-end holidays a happy time, a stressful time, a depressing time or a triggering for you? ? Well it's stressful, but not awful stress. It's just trying to fit everything in, afford everything, and feel organized. But it's also such a wonderful hopeful time! I get to spend time with family, and reflect on?what has happened the past year and what can happen in the upcoming year! ? Hope do you cope with the stress? ?...

For the most part, an optimistic time as a fresh start for a new year. 2008 was not a good year. 2009 was a little better. Here's hoping 2010 will be a good year.

Last year was really stressful, but this year hasn't been so bad, thus far. I always take a "me day" sometime in the week so that I can concentrate on my hobbies, watching Christmas programs on TV, or surfing the web.

I love the Christmas season. I always have and probably always will. My mother was always way too stressed out and things usually got a little bit ugly because of it. Unfortunately I married someone very similar. So I know there will be difficulties, but I try not to let it spoil the season. ~

It is just a happy fun time because being a Christian I celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and that is a party in itself!!!

The year-end holidays have always been a source of stress and a trigger for depression. It's only a few years ago that I could step away from this, though a certain sadness lingers still. How do I cope? I cope by being with close friends, but I also make sure that I am okay. If the stress levels get at a certain point, I allow myself to step away and ground. I don't pretend that I am happy if ...

Crying can be VERY therapeutic. There are times when it's not helpful or when it's even inappropriate though. I cry a lot, it's a physical release from pain (mental and physical). I can cry about a lot of things, it just depends on what it is. I can cry in public for sure. I think it's important to ask yourself after you finish crying if you feel better or worse. Sometimes crying puts ...

If you are in danger, please call 911 immediately. Calling a hotline number is scary, but there are times in our lives when we must transcend our fears. If you are feeling unsafe or if you are in danger, please call a crisis number. There is help out there, but the first step is ours to take. No one can help us if we don't tell them that we need help. Reaching out and ...
