Well a little off topic here but if you haven't seen me on psn it isn't because I'm not playing (which is way off because I have been playing more than ever [ Assassin's Creed 2!!!!!]) Its because the latest update just doesn't agree with my ps3.

I did. That didn't seem to have much effect, but today the PS3 said it needed to download an upgrade to sign in the PS Network. It seems fine now. Thank you.

I have done the firmware upgrade already and have unplugged the modem and router quite a few times and neither seemed to help. what could possibly be making only the playstation network not connect but still allow a solid internet connection?

Thanks Lyndon. Tried connecting other ways, playstation store no bother, midnight club la online, no bother. The problem seems to be with "Grid" the game, wont let me connect,says no connection detected.

Use Fairy Armor to hover over the poisoned floor and you will find yourself in a room with a mirror. Look into it to start a battle with 5 dopplegangers of yourself. When they are defeated head to the next room to find a chest with a key inside.
Now you can backtrack to the rotating platform and get off when facing West. Use the keys to open the door and move on.

It's definitely a hardware issue. I think your PSP may be pretty much bricked if it isn't coming on even with the charger attached.
We're not into the homebrew/ modding bit here so we may not be of much help to you here. You may have to contact Sony to have the PSP fixed (which will run about $80).

The guy upstairs mooching your connection could affect things- if he is doing a lot of downloading it could affect your connection enough that you do not have any bandwidth for yourself. If you don't want him using your conection any more you'll want to enable the encryption on your router. Of course, doing this will mean having to change some settings on your computer and the PS3 as well to ...

That should tell you the problem is the console, not the games. If you have one of the older "phat" models pick up a CD/ DVD lens cleaning kit (found just about any department store) and try that in the system. If one of the newer slim models take a q-tip and use that to give the lens a gentle wipe around to get the dirt from it. You may want to also have a very slight bit of rubbing alcohol ...

You might want to try using the first WPA instead of WPA2-PSK with the same password and see if that helps. Another possibility is maybe giving the router a firmware upgrade (you can check with D-Link's site for the latest version for your router).

First up, check with Linksys' site for possible firmware updates for your router. After that I would suggest unplug both the modem and the router as well as turn off the PS3. After about 30 seconds turn the modem back on and wait for it to show normal lights. After that, do the same for the router. Finally, turn the PS3 back on and try again with going online.

Ok, so you are a nOOb when it comes to the PS3, but certainly not a nOOb to gaming...nice to see another face from the early days of gaming (my first console was the original PONG).

Finish the game completely on Hard and you should have the Black Ops mode available. It won't unlock just the one level at a time.
