Smiley...talking about your idea of a custom. Trying to think of the outfit that sells kits to graft a fiberglass front end and rear quarter panels of a 49-51 Ford on to a early 90's T-Bird. Kind of along the lines of your idea. I saw one in town and follwed him a couple miles to the grocery store to see what the heck it was and speak with the owner. Really comes out looking nice and to have the mechanicals of a new car would be awesome.

1991 Trooper Broken Leaf Spring.

not to convolute everything but if you want to get a little bit of lift, you could get the springs from btw and add 2" lift shackles as well. that might be easier and more cost effective. Either way, it shouldnt be too much of a job.

95 trooper 3 inch lift and 35s
Published (2009-11-20 15:11:00)
Nice looking Trooper! Don't do a body lift unless you have to. Keep the center of gravity low! Here are a few views of my Trooper with no body lift and 35s. I installed the wider track front suspension from a 95 Trooper, and have 3.75" backspacing on the wheels. They do get up into the fenders in extreme flex, but not enough to matter. I cut the front bumper where it meets the wheel well, and hammered back the bottom 8"...

I'm looking to buy a "new" Trooper for my wife in the next week or two in CO. It will serve as a DD to haul 3 kids, as well as a camping and back country expedition vehicle. 2 of the kids are 6' teenagers! I've been a Toyota Landcruiser guy for years, but always loved the Troopers. Are there any years, issues, etc I need to look out for? I see a number of clean 98-00 Troopers in CO for $4...

Seems like if he checked it out before the purchase and drove it home with no noticed problems then theres nothing he can really do. says here he has to attempt to repair it 4 times before it's 'defective'. I didn't see where it only applies to new vehicles though.

I have been losing alot of fluid lately but have no water in the oil, no leaks, and no steam when its running. I thought it might be the tubes under the intake leaking but they weren't. Pcv valve also had the sludge ...

These weren't trails per say, more like ATV trails that had been cut with a chainsaw.
I will say this I was the smallest truck by far, the next smallest was a Jeep on 36's locked front and rear with both axles moved outward. The norm seemed to be Jeep on full widths with 36-38's

Not sure if many of you subscribe to other automotive forums. I have recently become a member of an Acura forum, and have been browsing VW forums too.
