http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8392392.stm QUOTE(bbc) Intel has unveiled a prototype chip that packs 48 separate processing cores on to a chunk of silicon the size of a postage stamp. The Single-chip Cloud Computer (SCC), as it is known, contains 1.3 billion transistors, the tiny on-off switches that underpin chip technology. It all sounds nice, except that each of those cores will be fairly low end based on the total transistor count....

QUOTE(Tweak @ Dec 3 2009, 09:09 PM) I hope they don't really, I mainly like to online shop and having retail locations I think will just mean higher prices, I like their online site though and often find them to be very competitive in pricing. The one exception, if you have one in your area is MicroCenter. It's nice to look it up online to see if it's in stock , order it, then pick it up. Although sales tax...

QUOTE(Tweak @ Dec 2 2009, 09:01 PM) CC online has been up and running for a long time and they have some pretty good deals, I do not think you'll see physical locations returning though, perhaps the reason the shops are untouched is due to the buildings being rather costly to aquire anytime, especially at the current time with the still rather poor economy we are dealing with at present. Cpould be, I wouldn't be too...

QUOTE(kelemvor @ Dec 5 2009, 08:17 PM) I was planning on ordering two razer orochi for my kids for christmas, but I recently saw a review where someone commented it was very small. My kids have previously mentioned they don't like the smaller notebook mice, so I want to know just how big it is. None of the local stores seem to have the orochi on display and I can't find decent ...

I have a nephew who is he assistant manager of the gun/fishing department there. 80 percent of the guns listed as "on sale" are the same price you can buy them for everyday. Chances are what shopping I do I will do online anyways. Generally the selection is better and so are the prices.

With IC chips , and silicon in general , It's all about volume of sales. We can there for deduce that most 4 GB sticks are bought for servers with ECC. It takes more time to switch between chips and get the yield up at a fab plant then it does to produce 100,000 parts.

QUOTE(dbedford @ Oct 14 2009, 07:48 PM) So I just got a Dell Precision T7500. I'm trying to install XP 64. I press F6 and wait, press S to specify the driver. Then I get the "insert the manufacturer disk and press enter" ...
