Why is he so scared?!?!

Training classes are a good idea. Call ahead and explain that your dog is shy so you'd like to go right into a waiting room. Most vet offices will try to accomodate you--they sure don't want anyone getting bit. If they don't have a room free, tell them you'll wait in your car and ask them to call you or run out and let you know when a room is free.

Dangers of Pits vs other dogs.

I think with the proper training pits along with other breed can be left alone and have no issue. Although not all of you like Ceaser Millan, I personally feel that he does some amazing things and can say after using his techniques my dog is 150% better than...

Dangers of Pits vs other dogs.

kalehayes wrote: dogs of any breed can be left if they are in the right state of mind. The problem with this statement is that sometimes all it takes is a squirrel running by a window or a stranger knocking on the door to change a dog's "state of mind". And if no one's there to change it back, it gets messy.

Thank you Luv n stuff. I hate admitting it too. And to the OP, I think you have handled getting constructive critisism as well. You have been honest and honesty is the only thing that is going to help you fix what has been broken. I think you can turn this around.

bloodshot eyes
Published (2009-11-21 22:59:00)
Discharge can be a sign of infection or a disease called dry eye. The internet is not adequate to properly diagnose your dog. Please take your pup to the veterinarian. Redness is a sign of discomfort, and even if your dog isn't saying it hurts, it probably does... I've seen dogs walk on injuries that make pro football players cry... weather or not they act like they hurt is NOT good enough to determine if they need treatment or not.

Petsmart Basic Puppy Training -...
Published (2009-11-21 23:13:00)
I know our trainer personally - she just happens to be employed at Petsmart. I say judge the trainer individually, just like you would a dog. Just because a trainer works at petsmart doesn't mean they are a bad trainer, to each his own. She has done wonder's for Dover, understands Bully breeds, doesn't allow play time during class unless it's a puppy class and for socialization purposes only, tweaks her training methods...

Has she had bloodwork and x-rays done? Puppies should be ravenous, and if they aren't, its rarely stubborness, but because they don't feel good!

would be judged as individual dogs. would NOT be the breed first assumed when discussing any kind of crimes (and in fact, no breed would, because all would be judged as individual dogs).

Thank you for the response. Yeah, I thought people might suggest crating all of them. I think that maybe the idea of dogs is different in a rural area. We have always had farm dogs. We love them to death, but the role a dog plays on the farm is a lot different than in town. Also, I personally believe that there isn't much a dog loves more then being free and able to patrol the property. Anyhow...

The APBT is supposed to be a great athlete. Many on the board work their dogs in one fashion or another and need to keep them in top condition. Some dogs have a roach back which makes the points of vertebrae more noticable. There are definitely some people who don't know the difference or cross the line from fit to underweight. That's not a problem I've seen on this board. Couple those things with ...

Ok! Slap, slap, slap! Seriously though. Raise the two you have for a few years. Dogs are a lot of work and responsibility. Wait until you have trained them, and allowed them to reach adulthood. Then decide if you want another puppy.
