QUOTE (AS fan @ Nov 21 2009, 10:15 AM) just wait till monday and retest the water. the nitrites will pass quickly. your tank looks like it skipped a ammonia spike and went str8 to having a reading of nitrites this is most likely due to a low bioload which is fine. if you want you can even post the water params sunday night and we will comment further. but right now everything is fine just wait it out. Ok,thanks ,will post...

^ http://www.catalinaaquarium.com/product_in...roducts_id=1638 Ended up going with one of those with two 6,500k bulbs and one 10,000k bulb. However for the time being I'm only running two bulbs. I'm starting to wish I would of purchased the four bulb kit for down the road, if I ever decide to inject CO2 but live and learn.

I have no problem growing E. tennelus micro with 108w of t-5 in my 75g. It is probably just the substrate.

Hey guys, just went to my LFS and picked up these: I just dropped in one cube of each and killed the light on the tank. Hopefully he'll go for it. He is iffy about tilapia. One time he ate it, one time he didn't touch it. Maybe my rhom has got multiple personality disorder lol

As with any fish if you are wanting to breed them buy in a group of 6 or more and let them pair off. Take the best pair and sell the others. Not any extremes to raising flowerhorns just there temperment when they reach 6+ inches. The can be really aggresive towards any and all tank mates.

My con's did the same thing with their fry. It was suggested to me by my lfs to remove the fry a few days after they hatch because they will eventually be eaten by the parents. However I did that for the 2nd time they had fry, and they haven't laid any eggs since. They just stopped breeding.

QUOTE (Tango374 @ Nov 26 2009, 02:41 AM) QUOTE (Piranha TeAcH @ Nov 25 2009, 05:27 PM) I wouldn't worry about it. I'd be more worried about only having a 1.5" depth. The majority of my planted tanks have at least a 2", but closer to a 3" depth of substrate...particularly in my 75g tanks. What are you planning on growing? Yep. I've been pondering that depth as well. ...
