Am I the only one who thinks it would be absolutely hilarious to put the pic of that passat as the greeting picture on the homepage?

Oil change
Published (2009-11-20 22:30:00)
Before my passat, I had the comprehension but never the experience to perform more than an oil change, brake job, fuel filter or plugs/distrubutor. Now, I've done axles, valve covers, and about to the timing belt tomorrow and trans pan drop in the near future with no reservation. I love this place.

Nice bug man... Is there anyways to bump out the hood where it's hitting to get it to fit right.. Like you would do to an old muscle car with a supercharger on top of it... Like raise the middle by like an inches or two.. That way the trunk would close, look nice, no wing, no hydrolock! it'd take some serious body work skills though. GL with ur build

You've got a wagon--just look out the back. That's the end of the car Much more useful in sedans, but if I were to consider this, I'd probably look into a DIY backup camera. My uncle just installed on on his Suburban and loves it.

Service Manuals.
Published (2009-11-21 20:58:00)
Whatever you do, don't get an online Bentley manual. I paid $90 bucks for a one year subscription and ended up loosing 6 months of it when VW took over from Bentley. The new password got sent to my defunct Telus email account and I got locked out. I tried dealing with both Bentley and VW and just ended up getting passed around like a blunt at a Ziggy Marley concert.

Where are you located? That will help determine a local value. For $5k you should expect anywhere from 60k miles to 130k miles. I know it's a big range, but it depends on how good the car is. Major issues are sludge, timing belt, abs and coil pack failure. Buy a car with full maintenance records, regardless of mileage. If it's been cared for, it will last forever. Best advice is: buy a V6 ...

Oy Vey. Maybe it's time for a Last ATF Change thread? MrGoodbytes, this has been discussed repeatedly and extensively - a lot of it by me. Do a search, it'll be faster than repeating it all. Hint - differentiate between "change" and "flush".

Damn man, something similar just happened to me on the Major Deegan in the Bronx. I lost a front tire but I don't think the wheel is bent. I had other issues too but that's in another post. This happened about a week before I was about to put on my 17" Audi wheels for the winter. I'm not sure how bad that is but you definitely should take it somewhere to get it fixed. At least you have all ...

1. Less complicated -- anyone can drive them (but not everyone can drive manual). This is especially important to rental/hire companies, since they don't want the car to be returned with a broken clutch.
2. No need for fuel savings -- gasoline is cheaper here, so most people don't care about slightly better efficiency.
3. There is no longer much price difference for having an automatic...

so was this you drove forward off of a curb, and it hit the body underside, or were you driving parallel to the curb and the wheel just drifted over?
provided there's no bend to anything, you should be fine.
