I picked up my two rear AMGs today. I immediately took them to styledynamix so that they could fit the rubber to them as soon as they arrive in the shop (as obviously 225/35/20 tyres are not summin kept in stock at all times lol). You can see in the pics they are very deep dish indeed (but not as crazy deep as the pentas) as they almost manage to swallow an antire ciggerette packet. I cant wait to see rubber on these so I can throw em under...

Or, take the throttle body off the manifold and clean both sides of the plate. Takes another 5 minutes, and all you really need is a 5mm hex wrench. You can re-use the gasket most of the time. I find a soft toothbrush helps if it's moderately-to-seriously dirty.

also, don't use a textured paint... the plastic is textured already. Use a duplicolor plastic paint..... unless u want to make the ridges even deeper.

No pain, no gain. Even though B5 series goes with a quite modest consumption, if there were any S8's priced decently here I'd def go for that, the elevated cost in fuel is nothing compared to the drive S8 gives (yes, had the chance to drive one A8 from 1997 and S8 from 2003), although Passat is a blast if you deduct repair costs
And who said another VAG wouldn't be costly to fix... but ...

Hey there... Not sure what to suggest on the switch... 98s and 99s had a lot of issues with the sunroof switch. The contacts/rheostat would get dirty and cause the sunroof to open and close somewhat sporatically without you even touching it. So maybe the previous owner was trying to fix that issue and broke the knob... Anyhow, from your picture I can't tell if you even have the entire switch ...

Fun. I've finished detailing/sealing the B5 for the winter. I'd still like to detail the engine compartment if I can find time. BTW, I've got a trashed set of 16s, Borbet Type Rs or something. I think they've been discontinued. Anyways, they're structurally sound, just cosmettically challenged. If you know anyone around town who wants them, or if you want them, just let me know.

I know someone has done it. Obviously, it's just the opposite of what most people do with the b5.5 front on the b5. The only thing that would suck about it, is you'll want to replace all the rub strips on the whole car to match the front bumpers rub strip. If I had a b5.5, I'd do it in a second because I think the b5 front ends are much cleaner/simple looking than the b5.5s.

Yikes. I don't really know enough to voice my suspicions, but the "reset the engine for 4 hours" line sounds like total bull (stalling for time) to me. I've never heard anything like that in my life. It also seems unlikely that your chip has anything to do with it. The software contained really isn't all that different from the standard; not anything that would cause complication with a ...

I finally installed it today.
Nice thick piece of metal.
Bring on winter snow, ice and whatever had me nervous about driving over.
Install was not bad.
Changed my oil too and finally put on my new washer squirter for the windshield.
