Good point badnews - the danger is that even if the wider solar market rebounds (incidently solarbuzz's 2009 global market estimate of volume matches the optimistic case shown in the PVCS interims presentation), this stock will be held back by worries on positioning. In their favour, if they are awake, they should have good visibility of any moves to take production in house by their customers. PVCS' bet is that they can offer...

Once we have bought into the share, there is nothing much we can do. I believe figures speak louder. If I consistently see two/three interims with poor revenue, I will vote with my feet. I have done this for many years. It is almost mechanical for me. The result is some do that a turn and business just turned better. Most that I know of take on further hit and eventually I lost track of them. I hope PVCS is not one of those. And so far, the...

Positive comments Mike, which is nice to see. Don't forget though that the fundamental risk comes from the fact that the majority of PVCS's revenues come from 4 customers, so there is a massive risk of vertical integration bringing about bad news. You only have to read through the previous posts to find why this has fallen and why it continues to drop. There are some brave souls here who try to find the bottom and catch falling knives, good luck to them. 40p would be nice BN, but at the moment its quite a struggle to keep it below 56p, maybe with some help this could possibly drop the 40p mentioned by you.

MGJ - there is always a trend - up/down/sideways - its value is that it helps you decide whether to buy/hold/sell. PVCS's trend is still down, so a trend reversal signal will be very useful (IF you know what to look for!). AR

Yes, I bought in yesterday at 59.00, so it was bound to drop. If shorters followed me around and countered my buy positions they'd make millions.
On a more serious note, the drop is reflexive of market-wide jitters, with US date failing to impress today. There are also company-specific reasons. People are nervous of this stock because they don't know what the Gross profit margin squeeze will ...

The message the market is giving is that it doesn't believe dividends will be maintained - the statement on dividends from management at the interims were designed to give them wiggle room to cut if they felt they had to.
The market also isn't giving any credit to the company for keeping its head above water this year - it just trades like a proxy for Q-Cells, which has had terrible problems...
