http://www.istartedsomething.com/20...censing-rights/ "Just when I thought Windows phones had already one too many layers between the end-user and Microsoft, they've just decided to add in one more for good measure. Announced today, Microsoft has signed on a third-party, Bsquare, to be the first and currently exclusive distributor for Windows Mobile licenses worldwide." This seems to be a total outsourcing move. The iPhone is a consumer product that a lot of people are using for business. The fact that Microsoft considers the *people* in business as "not consumers" has been their problem all along. Given the extreme lead times Microsoft believes is acceptable, they should have started jumping to action as soon as they saw what was happening within weeks of the iPhone's release and immediate popularity. They didn't really *start*...

I know this is about 4 years old but the HP iPaq RX5915 is new to me. I'm surprised this hasn't appeared already. Documentation for the tomtom software is - to be kind - "limited". How does one activate the "Call Number" function? One reviewer stated the RX5915 has a hands free phone mode but I have not been able to find it. Is this it? Thanks,

I've actually seen these on TV, and at the movies. The Windows Mobile ads, I can still count the number of times I've seen them on my old shop teacher, Lefty's, right hand. At least these are being shown.

I think it is kinda cute. You can throw your 'fox' in your pocket and go. I
get it. Haven't been paying attention actually. Is FireFox Mobile an actual
browser, or yet another 'client' that relies on host side processing.

Was really BUMMED OUT when MS took away the ability to perform a WiFi Sync!
In fact, kept an older version of ActiveSync on my Axim simply to maintain that ability - and then started running into problems with apps that would not load unless they found the new version of AS on your device... [Work-arounds were always available, but sometimes not immediately following an update.]...

Given what we've heard from Steve Ballmer over the past 12 months about Windows Mobile, I think that the leadership finally does care about the mobile space.

I'm not sure about improving the experience or innovation. However, I think this removes some of the conflict of interest arguments about Microsoft entering directly into the hardware/device business.
In theory if MS wanted to create a mobile phone device, they would have to get it from BSquare and not themself. I think this would be a concern for OEMs whether MS' device was based on ...

Is it not the same OS that's used on their "consumer oriented" phones ?

I have WiFi Router on my Imagio. It drains the battery slightly faster than it can be charged.
All this love for the HD2. By the time it really arrives, it'll already be old news. Faster processor and a camera flash is pretty much the main advantage I see over what I've got, and that just doesn't seem radical enough for all the love it's getting.
