Not getting an answer, I did some digging. I found this from a very old post in the forums. This is easily the biggest issue plaguing this current release. Currently, from what we can tell, the "new update" is a cosmetic defect, as the databases are, in fact, being updated. As best we can tell, something is preventing our TFUN service from accurately reflecting this and therefore is saying you need more update. I went to that Discover card site that locked me up fout times in a row the other day, and it didn't lock up this time. PctsSvc.exe is using between 0% and 3% of cpu time. I really wish I could help more. but the lock-ups are not solid.

more I shut off intelliguard and the cross network backup was way faster (subjectively seemed slower than it was with sd6 but faster) and i don't have the time to shut off one intelli guard feature after another to check it out further. If this slowness continues it will make full network backups almost impossible with sdav

I don't quite understand your post.
If something has removed PCTIS, you can always reinstall it from www.pctools.com/internet-security/ .
Or are you trying to say PCTIS quarantined some files? and you can't restore those files?

I had been using the version 6.0.0.74 of PC Tools Firewall without any problem till now. I had also used the version prior to 6.0.0.74 without any problem.
Yesterday I installed the new version that has been released... version 6.0.0.81. I tried installing it two times. First time, I installed the version over the existing version. Second time, I uninstalled it completely, and then again ...

at the command prompt run chkdsk /x /f /r
You scanned with antivirus, did you scan with anti malware?
Malwarebytes Antimalware is a good free scanner, but you should have good real time protection like Spyware Doctor....

What OS are you running? LAN type? Type of internet connection etc...
Also if you try moving the slider for Firewall Mode in Settings to 'Allow All' does this work?

You probable have hidden devices.
After uninstalling SDA, using device manager, I looked at hidden devices, non plug and play drivers and found the following to still be installed:
PCTsdinjdriver32 (this one was grayed out and not active)
PCTgntdi
PCTplsg
TFfsmon
TFnetmon
TFsysmon
These had to be uninstalled manually and the system re-booted for them to be gone.

I have the same problem as 'bluedarren21',
where the Firewall installs ok and starts at boot, but, both the Enable
button on the Task-bar and the large Icon button on the opened application
does not function.

Did you install over the old version or do a fresh install?
If installed over the old version, you might want to uninstall, re-boot and re-install and see if that helps any.

.. I think it has to detect your network(s), so if it isn't detecting, you might want to try an uninstall, reboot and thorough registry clean, then reboot again and reinstall the firewall .. to get a 'clean' install .. and see if it detects your network(s) ..

I had a similar problem with Left 4 Dead and UT3. You can manually open ports using the "Profiles" button. I think CS Source uses ports 27015 TCP and UDP.

I agree on this one (if i can since it's questions) I hate that our retail seller only sell Spyware doctor but not spyware doctor with antivirus :/
