Definitely need to clean out hte block and rad. Prime blending 64 bit style 8 thread at 4200 (yeah!) at 60-54-59-53 temps are still dropping (was blending with fans at 7v at first) Rad is in the window though with 47F air. Going to see how it does with room temp after the temps stabilize.

Folks, 1080i is a big lie, unless you are using a CRT that can only display 1920x1080 when it's being interlaced. Otherwise, if the display can actually show 1920x1080, it can most likely do it at 60hz. 1366x768 is a common resolution of '720p' HDTVs but it has to upconvert a 720p signal or downconvert a 1080i/p signal to display it. There's also a bunch of plasma TVs that really run at 1024x768 but advertise themselves as...

ssd for a netbook?
Published (2009-11-07 23:55:00)
well ssd for netbook wouldn't be overkill... i mean consider heat from mechanical drives is higher then SSD's. not only that but no noise when accessing data from the drive as well. all key factors for latop/netbooks.. Agility drive would be my recommendation for a netbook... though keep in mind if the OS doesnt support Trim he will need to use GC if supported by the firmware and drive. vertex and agility support both just load the...

How about a screenshot of both the WinSMP client and the GPU2 client folding right along in Win7 Pro, with the Task Manager showing 100% CPU, with a shot of CPUz in there also? I could probably throw in a SS of HFM showing my clients output as well.

I am going to have to wait on this one. The player created content is great. The lack of multi-player makes me sad. If every other game they have made lacked multi-player than I would not have a leg to stand on, it really feels as if EA forced them to cut it from the game so it would not cut into the console sales if consoles lacked the ability to host multi-player. Just me I ...

I like the Mini. I wouldn't do any heavy duty drag and drop or gaming with it, but for web browsing and selecting shows etc, the touchpad is fine.

That is pretty messed. What happened to the customer is always right?
I know if something happened like this at Staples when I worked there, the manager would not care who was at fault, there would have been an immediate refund.

well besides loading windows faster, it also loads programs faster. simply no moving parts and a access time of .1ms-.2ms vs 4.7ms for the fastest desktop HD. for a cpu that is huge to have that kind of reduction in access time to the HD. it is that much faster it can access and process info.. the only thing that would be faster for the cpu is putting the NAND flash directly ...

Very Nice, i see the cache helps out a lot. I see that with mirroring
though it doesnt seem to matter mcuh with the cache, it drops it down to
the performance of just one of the drives.

First thing, 4k for this project is not nearly enough. You're talking 1800 in GPU's alone and another 400 for the motherboard. A case to hold this kind of gear would be 300.00 or more. That's 2500 without a CPU, memory, PSU(s) (you'd probably need a couple), drives and we haven't even talked watercooling yet that would run 1500 or more, etc.
You are pretty limited to full ...

The guide needs updating. THe hot ticket for VMs is now VMware Player 3.0.0. Changes in FahCore_a2 version 2.10 combined with Players ability to run on 4 cpu cores rendered the run 2 VMs advice obsolete for 4 core and less machines.
You need to download the Linux SMP client. Sydney has a good guide for a Linux installation.
