I have 2 complaints about Flacco but they are complaints are inconsistent...IE, he does these things sometimes: 1) Throws the ball too high at times. 2) Still issues reading the middle of the field at times. But his receivers can't get seperation and they are smaller guys, so that doesn't help these 2 issues.

Reyes has an option year that the Mets will most certainly pick up barring a major injury or decline in performance. We won't have a shot at him until after 2011 most likely and the Yankees will certainly be after him to replace Jeter IMO.

Yah, I've heard they liked Nugent the best. He's been in town twice already, this will be the third. It'd be hard to imagine they'd go in a different direction at this point.

I'm basing this poll off the Hot Stove report on the O's last night. Bill Ripken, Ken Rosenthal and Harold Reynolds all insisted the O's should obtain a TOR starter (via FA or trade) this offseason. Someone that can "take our young guns under their wing and show them the ropes." Obviously, this is in contrast to AM's stated policy of "grow the arms, buy the bats." Which plan SHOULD we use, IYO?

Sucks for us, but time definitely makes this one less hurtful (at least,
for this younger O's fan who wasn't born when it happened) and more
importantly, good memories for another franchise that's had it really hard
for a long time.

The Arizona League Rising Stars game will be telecast tonight (Saturday, November 7th) at 8pm on mlb.com and the Major League Baseball Network.
The Network is channel 738 in my area (southern Delaware) on Comcast.
It looks like there are repeat broadcasts on the Network on 11/9 at 4pm
and 11/10 at midnight. Josh Bell and Brandon Snyder are on the American League Rising Stars roster.

Maybe as a spot starter and part-time assistant pitching coach. And I don't think you can get anymore "veteran" than Smoltz.

I honestly don't know.
He certainly has done the job laying the foundation...Now, will he be willing to do things he doesn't like to do in order to get us to compete in this division?
I am not sure.

My mini rant...will we EVER be anything else but known as the "former Cleveland Browns" by the national media? I mean come on man!...they don't call the Colts the "former Baltimore Colts" when they talk about that team in Indy....ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Probably...But its also why you need to identify early who you like long term and who you don't...and then deal who you don't like long term before their value drops. Now, the obvious problem here is that you really need to see at least 1 more year out of these guys to really access this.
I think its obvious Matusz is going to be a good one...and I like the chances of the other guys but ...

I don't care if they are wearing the God awful Padres uniforms of the past
or even those hideous blue jays uniforms of the past. I do not even care if
they go out there with pacifiers while wearing huggies. I just want to sit
with my kids and watch a world series featuring the Orioles before I die.

BP's baserunning stat has actually been around for a couple years.
What I find most interesting is how the worst baserunning vs the best running is the difference of 3 games. That is a pretty narrow spread.
