WorkflowExpressionQuerget list...
Published (2009-11-02 03:38:00)
Hope to get some answers... For large scale applications, where performance is a real challenge, I personally implement the current solution : -I define a concept of 'workflow views', every view being associated to a query -Every query is some kind of class that returns a list (or array) of workflow instance id's. -I provide a little library of frequently used queries. -The view definitions and association with queries are...

It should work .The expression is correct .May be the issue is some where else .Or try adding "*" year field (0 0 4 * * ? *)and check .I feel there is issue somewhere since the expression is correct .

I had configured quartz with Sybase JDBC store and i have added few jobs to the store. When i query the scheduler for jobs it displays all jobs properly. But when i start the scheduler.. jobs are not getting fired. I have checked in the database , all jobs and triggers are registered properly. Following is the code i have used. package com.quartz.examples; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileInputStream; import...

Holiday Scheduler

This is how I did it. Added following to the Trigger Type I am using "NthIncludedDayTrigger". If you put the following code in the methods getXXXFireTimeAfter you could if you supply a RolloverMethod enum control which day will be the next fire date. Unfortunately there is a lot of global variables used in the NthIncludedDayTrigger so it is hard just extending the class and adding this method. I just took the whole class and added...

org.quartz.impl.StdScheduler...
Published (2009-10-30 11:02:00)
Hi all, I'm using Spring 2.5.6, witch is using Quartz 1.6.0, and I'm also using another quartz-1.6.0.jar in my project. Because I need to use dynamic configurable scheduling, I grab org.springframework.scheduling.quartz.SchedulerFactoryBean from Spring, and when I try to assign this Bean to interface, I'm getting java.lang.ClassCastException: org.quartz.impl.StdScheduler cannot be cast to org.quartz.impl.StdScheduler exception....

Scheduling best practice
Published (2009-11-02 02:24:00)
I'm new to quartz and looking to see how I can move away from some bespoke legacy code I have inherited and also use it in a new application. The legacy application runs under an application server (JBoss). I've tried not to use terminoloy used by quartz to prevent confusion where those terms in my app potentially mean something different. What would be the recommended way to schedule my tasks. My application has a number of task...

Are you using the trigger's setCalendarName() method to associate your holiday calendar with the trigger(s)?

This is a recurrent need. Sometimes we want our action to be eventually performed by many users, so setting the owner and then querying by the owner is not a solution. What you suggested is a right solution but which is not efficient. Unfortunately, I don't see another alternative.
