Just to correct my previous post, features on OpenLayers.Control.GetFeature is a JS Object with the currently selected features. feature on event "featureselected" is the selected feature that triggered the event. The GetFeature control will set the property features with the features selected during runtime. As I understand it, you should only preset it if you want some features preselected. swing module status
Published (2009-11-20 00:24:00)
I've begun the refactoring (and personal learning process) for the swing module in branches/swing_thin_view. I've started with one of the simplest bits: JTextReporter (in org.geotools.swing.dialog) a frame with a text area that displays text and can save it to file. It's gone from zero test coverage to quite respectable. The 'cost' of this has been converting a single class file into eight files !...

Ciao Christian,
a minor correction, there is no new API for Java, a few people,
including somehow daniele has been trying to refine the SWIG api for
more stability.
Now, about converting GDAL retiles to java, I am not 100 sure that we
should try to convert the python code to Java right away, I have never
been a fan of straight ports.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for this - it's a good catch. That method was a quick hack for
FOSS4G. Perhaps a better long term solution would be to have a method
in the map layer itself so that lets you check what sort of feature
source it has. What do you think ?
Andrea, what do you think about a MapLayer method, perhaps returning
an enum to indicate the vector features vs grid coverage vs ...

Anne,
I hope things work out with the new mailing list. I know at least one of
the open source software projects I am involved with has discussed the
problem of encouraging the participation of more women.

I'm not sure that anything "went wrong" with the tests. The results may
be due to fundamental design differences between GGL and GEOS. These
include:
- GEOS uses a less efficient memory handling strategy, primarily due to
the goal of tracking JTS closely (and also due to the substantial
brainpower required to grok C++ template programming)
- GEOS focuses heavily on providing ...

Hi again list, I have setup a wiki page for the User documentation as required by the developers guide: http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTDOC/JP2K+plug in
I have also deployed the imageio-ext 1.0.5 release on the OSGEO maven repo. Can I have a +1 to move the module on supported land? (I already did a local build without the Kakadu DLLs and everything went fine).
Let me know. Regards, ...

Thanks Jason,
I assume as you have retained .4283 in your build number that this did not come from the up-to-date 2.1 branch. Can you confirm?
The only change between then and now is ticket 1107 AFAIK

It sounds as if you are exhausting some resource.
One guess is that you are maxing out your connectionpool, so the FDO
provider locks up.
Another possibility is that your provider is using too many filehandles,
and then stops working.
For both the possibilities, try limiting the number of connection pool
entries in the serverconfig.ini,
and see if the problem gets better or worse...

Great to hear! However, download takes very long. I suppose this is due
to a technical problem (or too many downloads per time?)
