Hey ... letting off steam is a good thing! The first page in my journal talks about my weight loss and my thoughts on motivation - feel free to follow the link in my sig and read up on it. I have a pretty different view on motivation and exercise and so forth from a lot of people. My philosophy, in a nutshell, is that I have to treat exercise and eating...

It might be worth you considering joining the maintenance club as we sometimes talk about life being different at a new size... I am pleased that I lost the weight and know that I am a lot healthier - but I do feel more disfigured at my new size compared to when I was big even... I am currently planning on surgery to solve some of my loose skin problems... Being a different size certainly takes a bit of getting used to...

The Graston is what hurt the most and only in my calves. I have a bunch of knots in them that I haven't been able to work out on my own. Oh, and the ART on the adductors felt like absolute hell.

Hi everyone!
My name is Megan and I attend UGA. I've recently decided I want to tone up and lose about 15 lbs. I am now 5'5" and I weigh 148. My doctor told me to shoot for about 130, so that is my goal . I have unlimited gym access, but also unlimited food access since our meal plans here are pretty much all access passes to a buffet at any time of day (yes one hall is 24 hrs.)...

Hi and welcome.
I'm going to throw this right out there bluntly - because I tend to be pretty direct.
With all respect to your doctor, exercise is going to do diddly squat for you if you don't control what you eat. I can't count the number of people who say "I eat healthily, so it can't be the food that's making me fat ." I used to say the EXACT same thing you do: "My problem ...

Hello everyone! This is my first journal entry and I'm happy to say that already since I began my journey to lose weight (just a little over a week ago.. friday september 11th to be exact) I have lost 5 pounds !!! Once I stepped on the scale and saw 155.8 I KNEW I had to buckle down and take control before I let go completely!! Today I am 150.6 and feeling great about it! I have...

I am sure I will think of more things to add. Maybe I will edit the post later.
But for simplicity's sake, and for those who didn't want to read all that banter above:
1. Eat as much food as possible that still allows for weight loss. Starving yourself does not lead to long-term success.
2. Exercise aerobically using a mixture of steady state and interval cardio.
3. When it ...

Hi Sam
Welcome back!!! And well done on you for catching it when you did and admitting to yourself that you had let go a bit on your control of the situation. Just think it could have been back to the 15kg you lost or even worse - more so dont think so badly of it. Try and spin the positive of the situation (could have been a lot more kg gained) and then use that positive energy to create ...

Hi! This is a great idea, Omega!
I am currently trying to maintain my recent loss of 40 pounds . My target weight zone is between 118-122. I don't want to get above this, so I am currently weighing twice a week to check myself. My weight right now is actually below my range...mostly due to getting back to my job in an elementary school and the stress that comes with that; plus being very ...
