I'm hoping the pumping works for me. Using a manual pump I've been getting around 2 oz so I'm hoping the electric will get more and be easier. I'm with you - I wasn't wanting to BF in public and was feeling very tied down, even though I was willing to do formula if I had to.

Yes!!! Normally it's just at night. But catie has been so crabby and fussy since this morning. It's 2pm now. We've been swaddling her and wearing her in a moby which seems to help a little. She does not want me to sit down starts screaming whenever i do :(. I'm wondering if something i ate yesterday could be causing her discomfort today.

Hello, everyone.? Here are a couple of pics of my little princess.? She was such an angel yesterday, but has been a little fussy today, so I this is the first chance I've had to get online.? She's fussy because she's gassy, which the nurses have told me is most likely due to the antiboitics.? She gets that through an IV every 6 or so hours for 48 hours.? Neither of us has had a fever since right after birth, but I still had to...

Your supply might be better then you think. Alot of woman can have more then enough for their babies but cant pump milk out. Your body responds quite a bit differently to a pump then it does to your baby. ? ?

How many hours does your LO sleep?
Published (2009-12-10 12:17:00)
Sorry it has been a rough go for you. Ella is a terrific sleeper. She sleeps sporadically throughout the day. Sometimes her naps are 3.5 hours long...other times she catnaps all day. At night, however, she falls asleep at 11:00 ish, wakes at 3-4 and then wakes again at 7ish. Last night she was really hungry (growth spurt?) and threw in a 1:30 feeding. She goes right back down after nighttime feedings and does what she is supposed to. I cannot...

How many hours does your LO sleep?
Published (2009-12-10 07:47:00)
Cohen is 5 weeks old today! He usually gets up around 7:30 am and then he'll take little cat naps most the day but he will take one good nap a day. It just varies sometimes he'll take?2 hour nap in the middle of the day, sometimes it's in the evening. At night he sleeps from 9:30-2 (some nights he stretches it to 4!) Then he eats at 2 and sleeps until 5. I don't know if he is really that hungry at 5 or if he's just...

I have a friend who has there lo's give them to the babies in heaven. when her little one is ready to give up their binkie, she goes to the store and buys a few helium balloons, and they tie the binkies to the balloons, and let them go. that way, all the precious babies that had to go to heaven, will also have binkies. it has worked for every one of her kids. :)

Oh my goodness Carmen, just noticed your new siggy and your girls are so pretty!!! Yes, it's very hot here at this time of year (we live in the tropical, top half of Aus) Poor Santa is the only one who has to wear the whole get-up! My DH lived in the UK for a couple of years and loved the white Christmases so we're hoping we can take Will somewhere Northern soon to see some snow.

{{{hugs}}} I am so sorry you are still hurting! Is this your first baby? Did you have a traumatic birthing experience? Did you tear or get stitches? I had a rough delivery with DS1 and I was in a lot of pain until 2 weeks post partum. Typically the pain should go away by 2-3 weeks... has yours subsided at all? If not then I would definitely call your doc to ask. There might be a ...

a lurker, but that is one thing that has always bothered me. But BF babies can also have that problem at daycare. I knew a lady that gave her 2 month old 8 oz. bottles, and he was still hungry and screaming all the time she said, so he had to have cereal in his bottle. No, your kid was screaming because he was overfed lady. at daycare that also happens to breastfed babies. I have ...

so sorry you are upset. getting out with a newborn is difficult. have you considered having your SO attend the 1st pedi appt with you? arrange a time that you BOTH can go. you might be suffering a touch of PPD too. new moms also get kind of house-bound for a while and it's hard on us emotionally. i think you should be able to bf in front of your SO's daughter. gradually. you shouldn't be...

I had a follow up exam today that had to include a rectal exam - not fun. The dr is concerned about how those stitches will heal so now I have to go weekly until they do. The time we were out is about the only time Bryan slept all day - except now when he's on my lap. He nursed for probably about 2 hours out of the last 3. No wonder you lose weight BF, I've only had 1 meal today!...

Great Question Rebecca! I've been pondering the same thing myself.   My LO is almost two weeks now.   DS, age 4-3/4,  has been home the last three school days, last Friday because his Grandmas were visiting and yesterday and day due to the stomach flu.  It's been very challenging and I haven't had time to rest, shower, etc.  DH is home today, so it's a bit better.   I'm going to have DS ...

Sorry you're going through that.  My first DD, who was not even BF, was like that.   She ate so much when she was little that the most sleep I really got at a time was about 45 minutes, like you.  By the time she was 8 weeks, she would finally go 3 hours between feedings and by 4 months she was sleeping 7 hours.  So there should be some relief for you at some point, even  though I know it sucks...

In general I BF in bed with pillows behind me and her on the boppy. That's the most comfortable and works for us. I do have to have one hand constantly holding my breast too. I use the other to interact with my son or use the remote or whatever. We've BF laying down a few times, but I find it hard because she'll latch and then I have to move my arm to get comfy and she lets go so it doesn't...

I would talk with his Pedi about it ... there MIGHT be a soy allergy ... Ive seen this happen before ... its best to go ahead and talk with the Pedi about it, and if they dont listen, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE . . sorry lol but Ive had issues similar in the past (my last baby .. and he actually ended up allergic to MANY things!) Its better to be safe than sorry ... GOOD LUCK!!!!

I too am in cold NE. We put DS in a onsie inside a fleece swaddler in his crib in his own room. We were dressing him a long sleeve sleeper and swaddler, but he got the family sweat gene and would wake up soaking. We haven't had any problems with him sleeping.
