Well my beast has arrived. Just finished toying with reformatting, installing my 2 7200 HDDs, and putting Vista 64 on it. Win Update is installing update 19 of 61 as we speak..LOL. SP1 soon to follow. I have a T9300 but there are some X9000s on ebay speaking to me. They are saying "you know you want me so just click BUY IT NOW. You know you won't sleep until you do. 8800M GTX for 1730

Well...after a long battle with Dell I finally got them to send me the right part I ordered a month ago...anyway what I was susposed to get was the 8800M GTX Dual graphics card and the order was placed for Dell Part Number 320-6973. I'm going to be repairing a laptop for a friend of mine, as her LCD screen is broken. Before I start breaking things, are there repair manuals out there for the VGN-SZ240? My Dell M170 has extensive manuals, which I absolutely love. Do they have something similar for the VGN-SZ240? Thanks in advance!

Will adding 512mb of RAM do much?

I am currently running 1.5 gigs of RAM in my Inspiron 6000. I got it with 2 512's and then I put 1 gig of Kinston RAM in. Will I notice much of a difference if I add another gig of the Kingston RAM?

i've recently aquired an old i9300 but the videocard is shot, boots up with all sorts of weird lines and glitches.. anyway i'm looking for a replacement gpu. idealy i'd like to buy a 7800gtx at the lowest price possible, but will accept 6800's and possibly an x300 (i think) if the price is right. also if anyone has a cheap pin-mod-able cpu i might be interested. thanks! ...

Just thought id give an update to my laptop problem. Well...as mentioned above, Richard took charge of the problem personally and replaced the Graphics card, Palm Rest and Cooling Fans....I received the laptop back today (due to the fact i live in a small out of the way town that DHL don't deliver to) The Temps have dropped considerably....!!! im guessing he removed a lot of dust bunnies...

On Hibernate or Suspend, screen dimmer ceases to function on resume

Win XP, Inspiron 9400, Nvidia 7xxx Go series with latest NBF drivers. The Alt-> up arrow and down arrow don't work on resume. Is there a way to change the screen dimmer settings in the OS? I can't find a setting in the Nvidia control panel or the power functions in the control panel. All the other alt keys work (volume, disable wifi, etc). Very strange and I can't pin it down to ...
