This is weird, because I do have the bad wireless card and yesterday a notification regarding the FTC rule appeared. It said there I needed to agree that dell couldn't get in on time and that I consent that new shipping date will be on 11/6 which was yesterday. Confused a little bit about that, plus I didn't get my order cancelled like some other people. I think they'll be pushing my order weekly until they finally get it right,...

I know I've installed it before..
Did you already have windows search the C:\Nvidia folder for the driver?
I don't know where I downloaded the driver from if I downloaded it seperately, I've been searching for it for 2 days but can't find it or remember..
It's the Nvidia HDMI Audio Device..

I tried to install Windows 7 RC. Everything seems to go ok, until I rebooted the system and upon loading, it defaults to the recovery process and then goes into an ERROR screen (it seems to be trying to search for the C:/recovery.bat file which obviously isn't there anymore, since the drive was formatted to install Win7). It looks like I already have the latest 206 BIOS, so not quite sure what ...

A clean install will obviously be better (ie. faster) than a upgrade
install, but there's nothing inherently wrong with performing an upgrade
install. Yes, there's a small chance of an incompatibility that can cause
BSODs and other unwanted effects, but don't make it sound like your
computer is going to blow up if you attempt an upgrade install.

Great review Charles. Very disppointed on the keyboard and touchpad. Is a
killer on the deal no matter how much battery life it has. If you can't use
the thing properly, then stuff it!

Lol. Yeah i'm interested in this too.
Most 14-inch notebooks have an optical drive though (Acer Timeline 4810t). Even a standard drive would fit here as it isn't really thin per say. You would definitely be able to get a slot-loading one in this chassis. It's thicker then the Macbook it's targeting. But I don't mind the omission at this price. I guess it's the main thing differentiating it ...
