since wd40 and stuff like that didnt work your gunna have to bring out some fire......at my shop i worked on alot of fbodies and i ran into this problem alot on the rear....just torch it till its glowing then zap it of with your air gun.....dont worry the bolt wont snap....good luck!!

well with smaller cc heads may require shorter pushrods i doubt longer ones, but idk. hopefully 7.40 cause ive already got some from comp cams laying around.

Eating a quart of oil is standard procedure with most LS1's. Any driving over 3k rpm makes them get oil happy. It's pretty normal and comes along with piston slap.
IIRC it wasn't until LS2's that the pistons were interference fit with some coating that wears down to create a tighter seal and eliminate the slap chop.

357ci sbc, vortec heads, comp valvetrain, rebuilt stock bottom end with speed pro pistons. id guess 9.5:1 compression ratio.
Th350 Trans with 2400 b&m stall
gm 8.5in rear diff with 3.08 gears
im trying to get $3000 for the car, ive got alot more invested in...
