Help Z Engine And Car
Published (2009-11-24 00:24:00)
I had a dealership tell me it was going to cost me $3255 in just labour cost alone to rebuild my engine because it was, "leaking from everywhere." I took it to a Nissan Specialist who actually tested the car and found thta the crankshaft seal was bad. They opened it up and discovered that the seal had been replaced badly. The crankshaft itself was fine. I provided them with Nissan's service history on the car. It cost me...

Motordyne, its starting to grow on me lol. Its customizable, so if you want it to be quieter you can, louder you can. You can have either a resonator, cat, or straight pipe on the ypipe. You can have two resonators on the mid pipe or none. Exhaust tips can either be titanium or polished, rolled or cut. Up to you, but i warn you the price is very steep YouTube - Motordyne 350z Exhaust YouTube - 350z Motordyne Dual Shockwave w/Ti Tips Exhaust

A 5/16 spacer + stock plenum and the Crawford plenum are essentially the same and yield about the same gains. That is not something I knew off the top of my head and had to search to find so I'm glad I learned something. If you want a plenum with proven gains then go Cosworth(it is a little pricey though)

I just drove an automatic SS the other day. THe Automatic has the L99. I was not impressed. There is too much tranny lag and the car has a tendency to appear to be in two high a gear at low RPM. I know active fuel management kicks in and this could be what created hte lag. I wholeheartedly believe that I could hand an Auto SS it's own a55 in my Z when it wasn't running right.
On another note,...

Yes, it will work. Most kits keep that "button" feature pushed in, so just don't pop it out of gear while driving. Lol.

I feel like this topic has been beaten to death but maybe not. Since you are running the same size tire on the front as on the back it sounds like you are confusing the computer by it thinking the back tires are traveling too fast in ratio to the front. Stock front 17" tire is 225/50/17 which is a 1.25 in difference in circumference compared to a 235/50/17. Although this is only a 1.5% variance ...

First off. For a Mazdaspeed 3 to say our cars are slow is pretty funny. You
got modded mazdas racing stock Zs. Stock for stock would be the way to go.
Sorry, I'm not trying to come off as a prick. People should just be happy
with what they got. Zs and MS3's are different platforms.

My cousin who owns a shop was thinking about fabricating a rear mounted kit
for me. Said it wouldn't cost that much to try it but i'm a little
skeptical... Are those numbers on a stock motor?
