Take a look at the Phillies. I keep hearing that "yeah, we put up good offensive stats, but we didn't get it done in the clutch, and the guys we rely on like Beltran were too streaky"... all b.s. in my opinion. Was the Phils offense solid from start to finish? Let's look at their big weapons: (Disclaimer, this is not meant to rile up Philly fans. To the contrary this is meant to show that ...

Your thoughts? From the October 8 broadcast of KTLK's The Chris Baker Show: CALLER: What you run into is -- you run into this idea, the same way that in education we want to make all the dumb people smart even though it's impossible -- their IQ limits them -- and we're going to spend all this money to try to do something that's impossible. And you -- it's a waste of time, and you get ...

He'll be one of the best and hippest presidents ever. He's a great person and not stubborn or erratic like the old McCain. He'll respect the words and ideas of top advisors and generals and not fight a war of distraction for personal greed and ambitions.

Saying the Mets and any other team is only allowed to sign *two* type A or B free agents is not true this season. Here is the list of potential free agents this offseason. www. sportscity.com/mlb/2009-mlb-free-agents-by-pos ition Of these players you figure about half of them will either accept arbitration or have their options picked up or sign back before December 1st. Judging by this ...

McCain's last hail mary ain't working. If Bill Ayers is all he's got, he's toast! Obama's laying the smack down in every national and battleground state poll. If the DOW goes under 8,000, McCain better concede cause he ain't going anywhere. It would seal the deal.

Of the free agents that are going to command huge amounts of money like Sabathia, Manny, K-ROD, and Teixeira, The Mets should really try to sign Teixeira the most, Let K-ROD walk, his salary plus Wagners 2009 salary will be way too much, they should sign Brian Fuentes to be the closer. We dont need Manny if we have Big Tex. And Sabathia is going to be too much if we sign Teixeira. Our Free ...

Jon Heyman just said he never had much hope of Sabathia going to the Mets and it hasn't improved over the last few days. He says the Mets will be in the bidding but doesn't think the Yankees with 88 million coming off the books will allow Sabathia and Santana to go to the Mets. He says he talked to Sabathia and staying on the west coast wasn't that big of a deal but he really wants to stay in...

I have to say that this is the guy that was the biggest disappointment in the mets bullpen. His ERA has risen over a run each year since 2006. Sanchez and Heilman are two guys that definitely have to go, but at least they had excuses; Heilman never wanted to be in the bullpen and Sanchez is probably damaged goods. Schoenweiss was horrible in 07, but was better this year. However, Schoenweiss ...

Last thread seems to have disappeared in the middle of my response to Mort on this issue, so here goes: Actually, when you look a little closer, the only section of the Constituion that really deals with the VP's powers IS in Article I of the Constitution: "The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided" "The ...

I don't even support her and I'm embarrassed for her. She's sooooo bad at this. As I said in another post, she's not debating, she's campagning. She doing everything she can do avoid debating. McCain is gonna kick her butt for losing the election for him. Palin is OBVIOUSLY not ready for this level. I never liked the B'tch anyway. LOL

According to Bob Klapisch, in today's Record, the Mets and Yankees will go head to head over CC. They are expected to lose out to possibly the Dodgers though. What does everrybody think about us getting CC?
