It would have been better to post some specs on the instrument itself instead so I can only guess that you have not written your program to send data in the correct format. You might have to use Byte Array to String to send hex commands. You could also use the typecast or right click on the string control/constant and select 'Hex Display'. As noted, don't use Run Continuously. That mode is intended for debugging, not for normal operation. It's equivalent to you pressing the Run button all the time, so your VI starts from the beginning each time.

I would think the name "Run continuously" would be enough of a clue to tell someone who wants to run something only once not to use that button.

Hi,   As soon as you use a framegrabber card it's better to trigger the card instead of the camera, because the framegrabber then also triggers the camera. There are lots of examples for triggered image acquisition, just use the NI Examplefinder with the keyword "trigger".   Hope this helps, Christian

You can not. You can use a listbox instead.   An alternative, is to write some code and every selection, the user makes at an enum for example, can be send to an  array and prompt the user to continue selecting...

You can, for example, create a tab control: just config it as an indicator on the block diagram, and wire an integer corresponding to the number of the page you want to display. To select the page you need, you may also use local variables, or property nodes, according to your convenience. Regards

Aside from the general comments that you will undoubtedly receive about globals being evil and all that nonsense, how exactly are you "closing out" the main program? It sounds like you are dealing with a VISA Read timeout issue.   Can you post some code? While globals may not be evil, perhaps your code is, which may bring some measure of satisfaction to the global variable haters....

Why not use subVIs? Either way if you application is getting to the point that you can't fit on a single screen then you probably need to clean things up. Good code is never monolithic, whether it is C or LabVIEW. It simply becomes very difficult to understand. Good use of subVIs helps to make the code more readable and maintainable.
