You would just need to use DAQmx to control the card. DAQmx is free. Note that DAQmx 8.9 is the last version to support 7.1 .   The bigger problem you're going to have is the sharing of code. If you write the code in 7.1 then you can open it in 8.2 and resave it. However, once you save it in 8.2 you will not be able to open it in 7.1. To go back to 7.1 you must save it as 8.0 from within 8.2 and then you need to have a copy of LabVIEW...

Hi again Joe,   We could just trigger everything off of counter 2 (the FPS pulse that seems to start the whole acquisition). CTR 2 would be a continuous pulse generation (at the rate we want to re-trigger the whole process).   CTR 3 would be a single, retriggeralbe pulse generation with an initial delay.   CTR 0 and 1 are a bit tricky in the context of the rest of the application.  I think that the suggestion I posted in the previous...

Let's get some terminology straight first.  The ACS800 is an inverter(drive), not a motor.  Fieldbus is a generic term for a communications bus.  There are several options for the ACS800.  Do you have any installed?  The best option for Labview would be Modbus RTU or Modbus/TCP, using basic PC hardware.  You can also use the CANopen interface with a special card in the PC.

Does this happen on other PCs as well? If so, then the DVD is probably corrupted. If not, then it must be something on your PC. Do you have any software installed that fiddles with optical drives, such as virtual CD drive mounting software? Do you have any software installed on the PC that may have installed copy protection software. These are notorious for screwing up just about ...

Hi oyester,   I know of no work-around that can help you. The only thing I can recomend is to stop using controls/indicators that are not intended for user consumption.   Sorry,   Ben   PS: Most LV apps do not need extra controls and indictors to work properly. If you want to know more about other methods say so. Message Edited by Ben on 11-02-2009 02:32 PM

A couple of quick thoughts.  First, I would give serious consideration to using a VI instead of the string.  You can pass complex data into and out of the fit using this trick , and the VI can perform complex math.  I have done this many times to fit complex impedance data.   If you insist on the string VI you could break up the function into real and imaginary parts and fit them ...

Perhaps, you could elaborate a bit on your question?   What do you mean by change X axis unit with meter? Do you want to change the label text of X-unit when a meter control value is changed? Or do you need X-axis style to be changed like a meter guage?

Hi kito,   how large is the bitfield? As long as it is representable by an integer datatype you should use an apropriate typed integer and do the masking with boolean functions and numeric constants...   Also LabView prefers dlls with standard C functions (or function definitions), C++ isn't supported AFAIK.

Not sure exactly what you're trying to do here.  You won't receive an output from the FOR loop until it's finished executing...after iteration #16.  The output of your shift register will, of course, be your final value, as you are seeing.   If you want all of the values, you are going to have to use the FOR loop to create an array as your output.  Your first iteration will be ...
