its freaking COLD wrote: Y’all are cracking me up with the No money in mules. it all depends on what you are doing with your mules if there is money or not. I know quite a few hunters (as in Animal hunters) who will pay top dollar for a mule who has mt and pack experiance. not to mention 90% of the trail riders here prefer mules to horses. and if you get into breeding gaited mules your money just doubled. Thank you!

Just start going to barns and talking to the trainers... go to local tack stores and check their boards (most have a classified board somewhere) and see if there’s any barns looking for help in the area. I got my working student position when I was a kid by just walking up the barn up the road one day... after I learned to walk, jog, and lope, I didn’t take lessons anymore that I paid for, and my trainer taught me in...

Because if you haven’t taken lessons and don’t have much riding experience, becoming a trainer is YEARS down the road. However, you could enter other fields. I’d also get this book: http://www.amazon.com/Careers-Horses-Comprehensive-Guide-Finding/dp/193199305X Now before you can...

mules there is virtually no money in, unless you have some people who still use them or have your small following. same with drafts, they are only truly popular for bigger money in driving circles, (and i love my drafts and evented a draft (a shire x tb) but there isnt money in it, unless you find someone who does Irish drafts as they are extremely versatile and good hunt horses and eventers especially if you throw some Tb in there to lighten...

Ok, so is he for sale? Is his owner willing to work some sort of lease or pay a trainer? Essentially what are the options you are advertising? What has the horse been trained in? Personally, I’d love to take in a project horse but I can definitely not afford it right now (since it sounds like you’re either trying to sell the horse or find a free trainer...). I don’t know any TWH trainers around here (my Dressage...

alot of horses get like that in the winter, the cold air makes them fresh and spunky.
lunge before you ride to let him get the bucks out before you’re undersaddle and it’ll help him warm up and loosen up also.

I would have it include things like they are responsible for all fees and costs that may arise from the breeding including death and burial of your horse. I would also put in there that they must carry mortality and major medical insurance on her. You may want to add that you are NOT...
